I will be judging a cat show in Columbus OH in early February (probably during the biggest blizzard of the decade, I'm sure).
I've never been to Ohio, but it seems that there's a German section there with a wonderfully sinful pastry maker there who has been a vendor at a street festival in downtown Fort Worth several times. Cream puffs are the size of a serving platter and have WHIPPED cream, not that yucky thick stuff.

Any leads on finding this pastry maker would be appreciated -- actually it's a restaurant in Columbus. Don't know if I'll be able to get there or not, but I'm going to make EVERY attempt, even if I have to fly in early/stay over...

And wreak havoc in my currently very successful weight-loss program.

Hi Marsha

Sorta coming out of the woodowork here with my first post, even thought I've lurked for quite awhile. The name of the place is Schmidts, and they are in German Village just outside of downtown Columbus. I'm only 40 minutes from there myself, and make it a point to get over there and pig out on German food whenever possible!

It will be well worth your time, but be sure to go hungry. The food itself is fantastic, and the cream puffs are second to none!

Take Care
Kyle

I vote to have a reunion there! Cream puffs! I'd travel the whole entire country for cream puffs! :D

You really have to try the cream puffs. The hotel we stayed at in Columbus provided transportation to the village.

Very interesting history and great food!

OH has been suggested in the past for a reunion. Now we have an real incentive....cream puffs  How does that sound Ross ;) Wait......don't answer that :p Marsha...sounds great. Enjoy! PS. When we meet in CO.......remind me to tell you about our Birman. She's a love. Wish we could have 10 more! This is her most recent photo. Disturbed her 'cat nap' by snapping her photo.

Kyle:

Eureeka!!!!!!! You're right -- it is Schmidt's. I didn't try any of other foods, but they were all great-looking. The cream puffs were awesome....

Gina:

I am showing a blue-point Birman right now ... His name is Bacardi, father is Rum-Runner and grandfather is Pabst Blue Ribbon. :D
Hopefully, I've managed to attach a photo of him to this.

Gina:

Here's another photo of Bacardi

-- taken at the Sacred Cat of Burma Fanciers show 8/28-29 in Medina, Ohio. His breeders took him to that show. I don't know whose head is showing from in back of the cage.

German Village has more Chlosterol than any place in the states. And good beer. Make certain that the Buckeye's do not have a home game when you schedule the Buckeye Brew Party.

Go Bucks!!!!
