CPAP after cardiac surgery

This came from WebPage today, thought it was interesting. They put patients on the PCAP for several hours after they were extubated. Has anyone on this forum had this done?

I was put on CPAP about 30 hours postop and about 15 hours after being extubated but because I developed pneumonia.

Here's the article about the study that was done, more as a preventive measure, "closing the barn door BEFORE the horse gets out of the barn" so to speak.

After my dental surgery I was on BiPap for several hours.

I was placed on a bipap because I am on CPAP at home.

I had to wait until my traceotomy was healed before I could use it.

Once I was able to get on my right side I slept like a baby.
