They're getting a higher rate now because the Delta variant is more contagious and they got vaccinated early so they're seeing their effect of the vaccine wane quicker than most of us. However if you look at the data and read the articles it will show that people who are vaccinated are much less likely to end up hospitalized or very sick. So basically what you're saying, if you're referring to the Israeli situation, is that people should get vaccinated and that booster shots at 6 months would be a good idea. None of us want this forever so ideally what we should keep working on is getting the whole world vaccinated.

I don't want to pour gasoline on the flames, but I'd like to point out that the 'rioters and looters' during the summer were people just taking advantage of the chaos to be able to get free stuff. The guys who set the fires and damaged or destroyed property were not the peaceful protestors, but were a group of people either looking for 'fun' or for an excuse to loot stores and commit arson.

Here in Southern California, gangs of thieves were seen, with coordinated plans to break down windows and doors and get all the stuff out of the buildings that they can carry out to waiting cars.

I don't think that it's fair to equate these atrocious actions with the peaceful protestors of that period. The news primarily covered the bad acts -peaceful protest wasn't (and isn't) particularly newsworthy.

If the insurrections of January 6 had just marched to the Capitol, waving flags and holding up picket signs, this would have deserved five minutes on the nightly news. It should be clear that the people who attacked the Capitol were completely different from the peaceful BLM protestors last summer.

I'm pretty sure that is not what he was communicating, but he was pretty vague and so I'm going to go ahead and interpretit it as you did. After all, despite the current anti-vaxxer mantra of "what about Israel?", as you note, the Israel data actually is very pro-vaccine. The Israel data suggests that those over 60 years old are 9x more likely to become severely ill if they are not vaccinated. So, those of you on the fence, please consider getting vaccinated. The data is very clear that this is by far the most protective action to take for you and society.

I don't even need to read it to know it is BS from the sensational title. The vaccine was not meant to totally eradicate Covid. It was meant to minimize it's impact. The small (and admittedly growing) breakthrough cases are mildly symptomatic if at all. Almost all the serious breakthrough cases (hospitals, ventilators) are those immunocompromised with underlying conditions. The vast majority (like well over 99%) of the serious cases (hospital, ventilator, death) are unvaccinated. Any normal educated person that believes in science (vs. BS) will agree that if we had most people vaccinated we would not have the hospitals overrun with patients right now and people would be recovering like they would from a flu like case. I wish hospitals could limit Covid beds and turn away unvaccinated ignorant people. Vaccinated or other illnesses should get priority..

I am so sick of the nut heads and the garbage they spew. How many of those nut heads have the numerous vaccines they needed to go to school as a child, but yet Covid vaccine is the one to fight against.

I ask anyone that sees the racist and derogatory comments shown in this thread anywhere else. Report it so I get a notice. That is not allowed at all, and I saw who did most of it.
