Coumadin replacement in the near future?

Does anybody know if there are studies or investigations to find a
medicine newer than Coumadin, with similar effects for On-x mech. valve , but without its complications?

This has been discussed repeatedly and no, there is nothing on the horizon at this time or as Al Lodwick says, "In the next ten years".

There may be a drug coming by 2010, but as far as I can find, they are not doing any testing on mechanical valve patients. That is who you may see some articles now and then in the press or on TV but they probably do not apply to valvers.
