Coumadin questions

Are botox injections, micro-dermabrasion, and face peels dangerous for coumadin users?

How about deep plane dental work; which I'm required to have every 4 months??

Would taking coumadin make my ovarian cysts more of a danger?

Take your antibiotics ahead of time; otherwise, no problems.

My sister tried Botox one time, She said her doctor specifically asked if she was on Coumadin. She said no, but asked why, out of interest because I'm on Coumadin. He said that Coumadin users should not receive Botox injections. He's seen too much bruising occuring.

I don't know of anyone who has had a Botox injection while on warfarin. I can see the potential for bruising.

Root planing and scaling should both be OK at INRs less than 3.0. You might need to skip one day's dose to be sure that the INR comes down. Please see my chart at http://warfarinfo.com/dentalprocedures.htm

I have heard of ovarian cysts that ruptured while on warfarin. I doubt that the warfarin caused the rupture, but it made the bleeding worse. I don't think anyone required blood replacement, so I don't think it was too serious.
