Yesterday I burned myself pretty bad on the stove. It's kinda bloody and gross. Anyone else run into this? Suggestions?

Kath,
I agree with cooker 100% I chemically burned my
hands at work....long story i wont go into detail
but had turned them black had to go change dressing
3x daily and they used Flamazine in my dressing as the
skin peeled and bleed,a real mess for me off work for a
month. You should go in with this.

All the best!

Absolutely you should seek medical attention. That sort of burn is high risk for infection. How are you standing the pain without medication? Burns are very painful.
Good luck and please get it looked at.

Thank ya.

Thank ya.

Thanks for the advice guys. I got it checked out and it is healing really well. What I couldn't believe was that the silver cream they use actually raised my INR. I had heard that topical medication could do that but it still is pretty weird to me.

Glad to hear you are healing.

My suggestion - Don't cook! That's why God invented restaurants!

Out of curiosity why do you believe the "silver" in the cream raised your INR?

Is the medication over the counter or by prescription?

Cheers

The silver cream is probably Silver Sulfadiazine, (Silvadene and Silverlon are brand names).

Yeah what is this Silver creme?

Yeah, it's silvadene. I'm no pharmacist, my coumadin monitor just told me that it can up your inr a tiny bit.
