I have a comment than a question,my INR has been 3.8 which is a bit high for AVR.my heart Dr. has been ajusting the dosages every two weeks I have my blood drawn.I want to know when do we call our drs. because I had 3 nose bleeds in one day and I had bruses on my legs they went away i told the dr about them .now I have noticed more bruses on me.this is not easy thing to deal with is it? we must be our own advocate.and what bothers me the most is I need to have my own protime machine, since I cant have it I need to have my blood drawn byweekly but the darn insurance wont approve of it because I am on medi-cal in the state of ca.the dr will send me to get a protime once a week but the darn insur turns me down. what if something happens to me i am a sinlge mom with two teens they need their mommy im the only one they have .it makes me so upset i cry many nites .if you go into the ER you sit and wait there for 5 hrs +...I just need to vent i have no one to talk about this things with thanks for all yours ears love chris in ca

I am sorry to hear of the problems you are having. If it was me I would not hesitate to call my Dr. and let him decide what needs to be done.
You should call QAS and talk to Lance about what they can do for you about getting a home testing device. They have the forms that you take to your Dr. and once QAS gets them they will contact your Ins. Co. It would be worth a try.
I sure hope you get things taken care of.
Here is QAS phone # 1-800-298-4515 and Lance's ext. is 2865

Take Care

Chris,

I have always bruised fairly easily and on coumadin it is unusual for me not to have several good size bruises somewhere or other. I have never had nosebleeds but as with any profuse nosebleed, if after applying continual pressure, for 20 minutes or so, if it hasn't stopped or slowed way down, I would go get it checked. Remember, the coumadin doesn't make you start to bleed but makes it more difficult to stop. If you get repeated nosebleeds then you should get checked to see what is causing them. You might have a spot that needs to be cauterized or something.
