Well, I finally got the bill from my Icd implant. It was over $ 140.000. I read in an AARP maz. that medicare doen't always pay for them. If they don't pay for mine I up a creek for sure. It really has my husband worried  It not like I can take it out and give it back or anything. This doesn't inclued the cost of the second surgery to reattach the leds. I am trouble with medicare paying for the supplies for my protime machine. As a rule if your primary doesn't pay your secondary won't either. But QAS assured me that they got the OK before they sent me the last shipment. But I have got rejection from both insurance so far. I am calling QAS on monday to see what to do next! I could wall paper my house with the bills from the hosp. Humanna, & medicare. Thank God for insurance.

Wow..$140,000.00 for Icd..What is a ICD? A pacemaker. My surgery was only $100,000.00.......I, too, will be going on Madicare next June..Age 65  Need to talk to someone who can tell me I'll still be covered with QAS ,ect...Bonnie

Hi
I don't know what happen when I writing back. They told me that medicare would pay but they didn't so I don't know where that leave me now. I wouldn't have made a double order if I had knew. It is going to cost theem aalot more money in the long run if they don't pay for the supplies, and a real headache for me! I thought maybe Humanna would pick it up because it falls under medical supplies. But who knows? I know with my SS disabilty I can't affort to pay for the supplies.
