That was me.

Mine was in a hospital facility ( Sister Rita Heart Center at Provena Mercy center in Aurora, IL ). They've charged around $2800 -- this seems ridiculously high even though insurance paid only a fraction after their discount the bill to me at 20% is still around $250.

I need to ask them for a thorough explanation of this charge.

Thanks for posting.

Burair

The breakdown of those charges, 1. the tech doing the echo, 2. the echo itself, the colorised version, 3. the doctor charge for viewing the taped echo. Thus the price total $1400. They charge more for color. That is what was explained to me for the charges. Good luck on yours.

Thanks, Caroline

Thanks, Caroline

I got a phone call..on my mobile phone about 2 weeks later. She (Nurse at Cardio) said..everything looked great, valve, ect.....After my annual Cardio visit..he was walking out the door..and I had to ask him..Don't you want an echo..He said..oh..O.K.... :p Had it a few weeks later.... My insurance paid 100 % and it makes me feel more comfortable... Bonnie

I just had my annual echo at the cardiologist's office -- total "retail price" was $925 (500+225+200). Insurance "allowed" $429. They paid $386, I paid $43.

Everything was fine, by the way. No changes from last year.

I get mine done at the UW seattle, and they cost around 1200.00. To charge more for color??? The prices are absolutely rediculous to me, but...That's why I have insurance.

1 year echo

Hi, everyone, just got my statement on my 1 year echo, total cost was $965, guess I will be paying $69.07. It says color-flow, 2d.( not 3-d I :) guess)

Anyway all is fine and I am pleased.
