Cost of Coumadin

I read an article in the last day or so which stated that the cost of Coumadin is going up by 22%.
I can't recall where I saw that, anyone else see it someplace.
Wouldn't it be nice if our paychecks suddenly increased by 22% ?

For all the increases of everything else, I'd like to see pay checks increase by 122%!

Of course the price of Coumadin is increasing, and I would wager the price of other drugs too. The new Medicare drug discount cards are coming out next month. Isn't it great? With the new card, you can probably get a 20 percent discount!!!

Well Rich, you could come live in the UK. Each item on a prescription here costs about $10, irrespective of the actual cost of the medication. Only problem is that you might have to wait so long for surgery that you might never need the medication in the first place.

Seems to me that in this world you pay for what you get and you don't always get what you pay for....and of course prices always increase faster than wages......that's the sad reality...

For those with concerns re Coumadin costs, consider the generic warfarin, and also do a little surfing of the on line pharmacies. I think you might be pleasantly surprised.

I get a 90 day supply of Coumadin for $30 so it's no big deal.
I just thought a 22% increase was a little ridiculous.

I was plesantly surprised when I calculated out the cost of my Warafin. I think it was around $34.00 Canadian for 100 = 2.5 mg pills. I am still on dosages of 7.5, 6.25, 7.5, 6.25, it is looking like it might end up staying there. So it's around $1.02/day..pretty cheap compared to the other drugs that are out there.

Of course we all wish that we wouldn't have to be on any of them..but some things ya gotta do, what ya gotta do..
