I truly believe that those that teach us what NOT to do are just as important as those who teach us what to do ... No excuses ... stress, yes ... frustrations, yes ... life is made up of many components I just need to learn to deal with them in a healthier way ... not to mention I just LOVE sweets and I LOVE to eat ...:rolleyes2:

Rant: 2nd Stress echo canceled do to cardiologist moving and the shuffle of patients to other doctors ... gastroenterologist not wanting to peek up my colon without me coming off warfarin ...:mad2:

Happy thoughts: Loving DW being retired ... Lots of reasons to be grateful so I will choose a few and march forward ... life’s good...

Throwdown going into year 4!!

Thanksgiving Day Marathon Starting Weight: 217.25
Current Weight .... 221.25
Marathon Stats .... +4.0

Dang, Cooker. GI doc not wanting to play peek-a-boo with your colon is just WRONG! :eek2: Tell him/her to get with the program. Even I know you can have the procedure while on coumadin. (my upraised thumb is not suppose to convey any other thought other than "go for it".:biggrin2:)
I haven't weighed in a few days, so I think I will continue the trend and wait until tomorrow.:wink2:

Superbob's starting weight for the Turkey Day Marathon: 270.9 (same as his closing weight for the Founder's Day Sprint)

Superbob's weight this morning: 270.3

May not seem like much, but it is a near-miracle to have a 0.6 loss after last weekend's eating at an out-of-state kiddie soccer tournament, including Cheesecake Factory (oh yummy memory), and even a family McDonald's indulge inside the family van on the move between soccer matches. :eek2:

Doctor's appointment this afternoon: He may not be pleased with these numbers, but SB has probably shed at least 3 pounds this week (was afraid to get on the scales after the weekend)....

Save SB a drumstick for the victory stand after the Turkey Day Marathon.

Now, Capt Cooker, hang in there, you will be back in the running, SB is sure.

Inquiry to "The Ref" -- The Chimp says the Throwdown is now "going into" 4 years. Isn't he being too modest -- isn't it at least 5 years? The Ref would know. She Who Must Be Obeyed knows everything. :wink2:

Congrats on ditching the weigh before today's date with the doc's scale, SB. Keep it up, and come T-Day, the drumstick will be yours.:smile2:

I think Electlive will have to rule on years of Throwdown existence since he's the official Throwdown Historian. Maybe a pm will bring him round.

She Who Must Be Obeyed doesn't want to step on a Throwdown office-holder's toes by issuing a proclamation.:wink2:

I'm "down to" 142.8 this morning. Still want to get back to 134-ish. These cruise pounds are hard to shed, especially with birthdays and holiday parties coming so soon after the vacation. And I have check ups with my doctors next month, so gotta work hard at this!
Work is INSANE, so don't worry if I'm not around much. Thank G*d I have a job!

Life is good and we should feel great that we are not crippled by the stresses or frustrations we go through!
We are fighters and we should remain strong.

Have you tried the WW power plan?! It is working for me unlike any other plan before since I matured in age:biggrin2: I am able to enjoy my carbs as long as they are not *white* such as wheat spaghetti, red potatoes, corn on the cob, yams (which satisfies my sweet tooth) in addition to all limitless fruits! I enjoy food and I love to eat too ... I grew up in a society where food was the center of all social gatherings!

I EVERYDAY practice the deep breathing technique several times during the day. I wish I was more consistent with this before! This is greatly helping me reduce my anxiety, stress and my HR!

:)

Starting anew today ... fruits, lean meats ....

Eva, so good to have you back with us!!!

OK Throwdowners lets lose record amounts between now and turkey day!!!!!

PS: New plan of attack... Monday, Wednesday and Friday..... Walk
Tuesday and Thursday Weights and stretching

I've been on WW forever, and pretty much eat from the power foods groups. What is bread??? It's been so long I have forgotten.

BUT I love real cheese and can't stand the FF stuff. So I keep to my points and eat 95% power foods, and limit cheese to 1 oz per day.
But I'm not getting anywhere fast. It doesn't help that I keep aggravating my ankle, either.

That sounds very reasonable, Cooker. Stick to it, and I bet you will have good luck.
Laurie, I did well on WW too, but it does seem that it got harder the longer I was with the plan.
I stayed the same as last week. I've had a reoccurence of the same bug that hit me about five days ago. You would think it would help me shed some weight (yes, stomach bug), but no, it didn't.
We leave tomorrow morning for vacation, so someone else needs to be Cooker's designated nagger for the week. It's a tough job, but somebody's got to keep him in line.:tongue2:

A "nagger"? Be careful with thy vowels! (hmmmm, not getting the icons -- anyway, yikes!) : )

Since I am a fellow Carolinian, I can't very well be Cooker's scold. Delectations like "Grits and Groceries" beckon me, too. : ) However, Superbob will strive to set a good example. He and DW just bought $25 worth of fresh fruit and veggies at the farmers' market, so that's a healthy start. : )

Oh, and hope you feel better Duffey, and have a wonderful vacation! A break from SB's sarcasm is always a good thing. : )

Well, I have to admit, my first impulse is to throw out this case, haven't I already ruled on it!?! :confused2: :biggrin2:

See, I was under the impression that I was providing consulting research services...an official Throwdown Historian position would clearly violate my Independent Contractor status! So, it seems to me there may be a more urgent matter at hand. Clearly, we need some sort of court reporter to keep track of these sorts of things. Or at least a law student willing to research the case files pro bono?

So, I'll let you folks give this some consideration...and by all means, no need to worry about my toes! But if you don't make any headway by the next time I check in, I'll see what I can do. I have been a bit of stranger of late, but think I've still put up enough other posts between my last assignment to make another research effort not quite a one-click effort. So, guess we'll see who gets to the bottom of this first (or last). In the meantime, another thought to ponder, did you know that legally the Throwdown is actually one year older the day before it's birthday...

Well, Superbob has gone back as far as 2007, when the Throwdown was still in its infancy, to find a post when a certain person later known as "the Ref" was trying to refute Superbob's argument that cranberry-orange scones are better than ***. :tongue2:

So Superbob surmises that we have just completed the TD's 5th year, and have headed into our 6th year. As I suspected, The Chimp was too modest in his observation that we are heading into Year No. 4 (or else his math skills are even worse than mine). :tongue2:

Don't we pay our historian to produce these musty reports whenever our memories fail (which can be often in my case)? :tongue2:

No fear here of payment given for services not provided, my prior ruling is not the only thing that was forgotten! :rolleyes2: You may want to consider the prospect of The Consultant's own memory failing for future services though. Although I guess this now gives me the opportunity to double-bill! Ok, here it is, one more time:

So, August 20, 2007. It seems the year was not the only part of my ruling to be forgotten! I think my next assignment should probably be to investigate the effects of weight loss on memory loss... :wink2:

Thanks! Yep, I think we need to chow down on BBQ and scones to preserve our memory (or memories). :tongue2: Good job, Historian/Consultant!

Wise? Wise? Wise?
Cindy? Cindy? Cindy?

Hello Hello Hello:confused2:
I have just been plain bad. I haven't been on the scale yet, so I guess I'll wait until next week. Cindy has not weighed either. Send special teams to bind and gag us please!
