Greetings Throwdowners! ... I hope this finds all well ... I apologize for not being as active here as in the past but things have been pretty hectic ... I have been mindful of losing weight but that's as far as it goes but I guess that's why I'm only up one pound ... I'm up three pound for the race but that's nothing the "magic elixir" won't take care of ...:wink2:

Last weeks thread access was an issue as well as posting to the thread(for me) ... I have thought about it and change the way I entered this thread in hope that it may cure the problem ... of course it could have just been a glitch from my end, VR .... who knows ... if there are problems this week please let me know and post your problem to the Tech Support forum...

Last Week: 204
This Week: 205

R, W & B: +3

I have arrived! Finally got the golden ticket of admittance to the Throwdown. hehe..... oh yeah, but now I have to weigh.

I'll report my weight today. From the beginning of RWB to today I'm down three. I started at 183 (eek) and am now 180.

Cindy will weigh tomorrow or Saturday.

After wasting his substance on riotous eating the Prodigal Son returns:biggrin2: ... don't know what fixed it but glad you two are back home! ... 183 is a goal for me:eek2:

Weighing-in is beginning to become a more pleasant experience. Superbob is exercising at the Y, plus of course walking Superdawg twice a day, plus making an effort to eat more sensibly here in the land of endless buffets.

Result this week: a one-pound loss.

Total loss for the Red, White, and Blue: four pounds. :smile2:

Duffey is very happy to see Wise and Cindy able to access the Throwdown thread, and she offers her congratulations to Wise on his weight loss. :smile2:Congrats to Superbob too!:smile2:
Chimp, hang in there, nice weather has arrived, and it's time to drag out the shorts and bathing suits . . . . think Speedo!:wink2:
I've had a good week. Good enough that I'm using yesterday's weight since I haven't had a chance to get on the scales today.
Last week: 156
This week: 154
Loss 2 pounds.

Woo Hoo Duffey! Girlfriend you are smoking hot! Keep it up. Congrats to Wise for being back in the 'in crowd'. SB - way to go! I will weigh tomorrow and I think I will be down some, but it won't be much I fear. Rehab is going well. Had a cardio appt today and the results of my echo were GREAT! This new valve is a workin' the way it is supposed to.
I complained of still having considerable pain and tenderness in my left chest area and the scar itself - and was told that it takes awhile for that to go away like 6 months or so - and to my dismay he said some of it may never go away!. :eek2: : Didn't like that comment. If I just didn't have to wear this bra to work! I remember back in the 70's as a teenager my Mother used to BEG me to wear a bra - especially to family functions! HA that was the era when women were burning their bras, but now I've entered the 'gotta have something to keep them up era'! :biggrin2:

Is it Friday already...

Is it Friday already...

Congratulations to all the losers who really are winners..!:biggrin2: Welcome back Wise & Cindy. I've had the same probs with posting and must contact Hank.....oh Hanky..!!

This week the willpower did pay off..."cut the cheese/salami, dressing on the side - small cobb salad." Between planting 14 salvias, gardening, bike riding and walking too - I'm sure that added to the loss.

Down 3lbs pounds which adds up to down 5lbs for the Red-White-Blue Race to the Fourth..!

What a great start to the RW&B we're having. Cooker, that elixir will get you back on the right track.

I'm really thinking that I need to rejoin WW, even if just online. I just don't do well consistently if I'm not tracking my food intake well, as well as exercise. I've had a mild bout of bursitis, but am doing better; still a lot of walking will not be happening right now. I'm like Paul, the good that I would do, I don't, the bad that I don't want to do, I do. Ugh.

Wow, the Texas gals are back and going strong! Congrats -- and God bless Texas! :smile2:

Thank you SB for the blessing - you know we are pretty obnoxiously proud of our State! This Texas girl is working strong, but in the wrong direction. Essentially I stayed the same. I have finally emptied the house of all tempting food I shouldn't have and will do a big grocery shop for healthy stuff this weekend. Gotta get going before the cardiac rehab nurses give me a lecture. Plus I am just flat uncomfortable in my clothes.

Beginning weight for Race: 215
Last Week's weight 214.2
This week's weight 214.4
Gain .2

Bah humbug!:mad2:

After grandson's super soccer game this ayem, Superbob was dragged kicking and screaming to a Dunkin Donuts shop (no doubt SB was complaining 'cause he preferred Krispy Kreme.) :p Anyway, the Man of Steel limited himself to one doughnut with vanilla icing eaten very slowly and a cup of black coffee. Hey, that's better than scarfing down a dozen!

I'm not doing so well diet-wise. I'm measuring my food, journalling it all, exercising 2-3 times per day (granted in 10-20 minute walks or elliptical, but still it adds up to at least 30 minutes per day, and frequently an hour or more). I'm watching my salt as always, staying within my points.

And watching the scale go UP!!!

This week I'm cutting out all bread, crackers, and alcohol, event the stuff that fits within my points is going. There's already little to no sugar or salt, next to no bread, and counted out crackers (6 low-salt triscuit = 3, 5 low salt ritz = 2).

Y'know, it used to be I could have several little chocolate pieces every day, and dinner out once a week did no lasting harm. But lately????? Yikes.

I'm so frustrated with my weight. Friday was 137.1, and today I'm up another, and that's after spending all weekend working in the garden??? What do I have to do to lose a few pounds? Seriously, I'm up 8 pounds from where I want to be, and 6 above where I'll settle for.

If I don't drop at least 3 pounds by May 31, I'm going to go get a check up and have them run another thyroid test.

Work has been insane, so I'm not around much these days. But I refuse to stress-eat, and I've not been. And don't tell me stress makes you gain weight. It's nothing new in my life.

That is soooo frustrating Laurie. You are doing everything right it sounds to me like. Maybe it just your metabolism is slowing with age. ( don't hit me!) Sure couldn't hurt to get your thryoid checked and try to cut out more carbs (like bread, crackers, etc.) But if you are feeling healthy and comfortable in your clothes - that is what really counts.

That does sound frustrating, Laurie. I've been diagnosed with a low thyroid and my doctor has just recently doubled up on my med for it. I don't know if that will have any impact on my weight loss efforts, but I'll track it. Thyroid is one possible factor that comes to mind.

As long as you exercising and eating healthy, I wouldn't worry a lot about a few pounds. Sounds like you are doing very well following your recent surgery.

Laurie ... I know you are frustrated but just keep doing what you know you need to do and more importantly what you CAN do ... schedule, time, obligations, life itself is what it is and can be overwhelming ...

I have decided just to do the best I can for me, as often as I can and let the chips fall where they may ... don't beat yourself up over a few pounds, it's not worth it...

Oh, I'm not giving up. But the poochy belly and saddle bags don't look too cute in the summer dresses! Forget the swim suit.
I'm just frustrated, because I can control what I put in my mouth, and I can control whether I get up off my (fat) butt,
and it's not doing me any good.

I'm concerned that 5 lbs becomes 10 becomes 20, and we all know that's not good for my heart.

I may have to break down and do the damn thyroid needle biopsy the internist suggested a couple years ago. Mine's enlarged, has been for 30 years, but the bloodwork has always been normal. normal. normal.

Hey! ... poochy belly and saddle bags are ok by me:wink2: ... reality is not perfection and perfection is not reality:thumbup:
