Okay, Throwdowners, time to get up and march round the breakfast table! If you're still eating leftover cinnamon buns from Christmas Day, time to work your buns off, burning them calories. :D

Superbob probably has done some damage to his Challenge to Maintain status this week, but he will wait til tomorrow morning to look at the results (and yes, SB supposes, report them). We're just starting to get into the football games featuring the heavyweights so let's hope SB doesn't become even more of a heavyweight himself from watching and vegging (as in couch-potatoing, not eating veggies).

Reckon it's about time to start thinking how the TD is going to launch the New Year. Another Race to Saint Paddy's Day -- this time to lose, not maintain? Or does someone have an idea for a new destination? I am sure The Chimp is receptive to all ideas. :smile2:

Okay, we're going to celebrate through New Year's and food and drink are part of that. Have fun, be safe, and keep in touch with your friends here. HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE!

I want to thank SuperBob for starting the tread for the past two weeks, as usual his wit as kept the ball rolling ...

I have not been feeling the best and am in the middle (started today) of having test run to try and determine the cause of pain in my belly .... several test and xrays today and off to the hospital tomorrow for an ultrasound ....

I will try and weigh-in tomorrow and report .... don't expect much .... The-Chimp has been on an eating spree:biggrin2:

I'm sorry you're still feeling poorly, Cooker. Hopefully it will be quickly diagnosed and fixed.

I seem to be up a pound or so since early November, but am dragging myself back onto the straight and narrow. Official WI is tomorrow. Diet starts in earnest Monday morning (after the NYDay training group annual food fest).

I have to lose these 8-10 pounds I've put on the last 2 years 'cause I just booked a 2 week vacation for next summer (eeeekkkk. That scream you hear is my wallet protesting the crowbar used to part me from my money). Must.Make.Room.For.Cruise.Pounds.

Oh no....our Chimp has a sore belly....Maybe that cruise ship feeding frenzy caused a blown gasket and a gallon
or two of Pepto will straighten things out.
Keep us posted :)

Sorry to hear you're having to go through the medical testing mill, Mr. Chimp. Man, can I ever relate! No matter how uncomfortable the test may be, the worst part is waiting for the results -- and then sometimes getting inconclusive ones. I hope and pray you get definitive AND good results -- that all is well!

I'm finishing up the holiday maintenance with a 4.5 gain ... not bad considering the cruise, parties and endless opportunities to binge on seasonal sweets.

A race to Saint Paddy's Day sounds good to me .... I will use today's weight as my starting point ....

Thanks for the prayers and good wishes .... now I'm off to the hospital for my ultra-sound:thumbup:

Holiday Maintenance Start Weight: 222.0
Holiday Maintenance Finish Weight: 226.5
4.5 Gain

I actually stayed the same, so I will start the next race about in the same spot that I ended the last!:confused2:

I was able to walk last night, first time in four days, but a nomadic child has made a late night arrival with Dunking Donuts in tow. It was the same child who left the cheesecake earlier in the week . . . gotta love him.:tongue2:

I hope the ultrasound reveals nothing more sinister than a slightly extended belly button, Cooker, but put you in my prayers to cover all bases.:smile2:

Today's weight: 159

Well, Superbob has taken off his cape and all in order to weigh in in his nature Kryptonic state (it really would be easier if there were a telephone booth somewhere around here) :p -- and what he finds is a small miracle:

He is down in the Challenge to Maintain from 260 to 257! Loss of 3!

SB can't think of any explanation except that in watching the Alamo Bowl last night, there was no time to make runs to the fridge. Just taking the time to make a ham sandwich could have meant missing 3 or 4 touchdowns. Baylor, 67; U/Washington 56. Never seen anything like it. I want RGIII to play quarterback for the Redskins -- please! 777 yards of total offense for Baylor -- wow!

Okay but the Challenge to Maintain does not end til next week -- we have the New Year's partying and football watching, friends. Some of those games might be dull, and so it may be necessary to watch with oft-refilled glasses and plates of goodies.

So stay safe and have a happy ringing-in of the New, yawl! And let us know how your test goes, Cooker -- sending prayers, as Mary says, just in case.

My official WI: 139.0 Who's keeping score? Where did I start? If it was the first friday in november, I'm only up 1.2.

I'm IN for the race to St. Paddy's! My goal is to lose 5 lb. by then, and another 5 by July 4.

Nothing tastes as good as thin feels. Lather, rinse, repeat until it sinks in.

I've managed to maintain but I have no clue how that happened as I'm one of those chasing the sweets.
Thanks for stepping in SuperBob.
Cooker you are in our prayers that all is well. Keep us posted
St Paddy's day is OK with me.

Superbob ate a big ol' Baby Ruth candy bar out of DW's secret stash tonight just because he could. :eek2:

SB must pay with lots of extra exercise tomorrow! :rolleyes2:

Chimp Update...

I think most of you know that I have been having some stomach issues and I was sure it was liver and or gallbladder but maybe not. After blood test, urine test, x-rays and ultrasound all liver and gall badder functions good. My doc said there was a remote chance that maybe I had a pulmonary embolism so the CT was done, all clear, no embolism.

We are hoping it may be a pulled muscle or micro crack in a rib (I don't think so). I don't know what it is but it has been some better so we are hoping it will resolve itself. In the mean time I will take pain meds and at least sleep well .... :cool2:

Diet? LOL

So sorry I missed this Cooker, but glad to hear some things have been ruled out. Just a thought, but could it be a stomach ulcer? I dunno. I do know that eating to much of that "pro"-something-or-other in yogurt can give you a real belly ache - hence the reason why the manufacturers put yogurt in small containers.

I know of 3 people who indulged in yogurt and experienced the same thing and went through all kinds of tests, all which came back normal. Once they stopped the yogurt, tummy problems were gone. Just a thought.

Glad to hear the tests have come back clear, Mr. Chimp. Still, I know it's frustrating when they can't pinpoint something specific. Going through that with my hemoglobin. Oh well, we geezers are tough and just move forward. BTW, congrats on the football Gamecocks -- quite a season, and they figure to be great next season too.
