Here's hoping all are having a wonderful Thanksgiving ... counting my blessings as I type this out ... It's warm here and soon the house will be smelling of delicacies TheChimp can not resist, and won't even try:biggrin2: ... Duffey has noticed that I have not been posting my weight and there is a good reason, I can't get to my scales at this time ... lame excuse I know but that is the way it is ... I am holding steady and plan to push hard between now and New York in December ... then comes Christmas and New Years:eek2: ... It looks like we should start the St Patty's Day Throwdown on 1-2-11, what ya think? .... Have a great holiday season and my prayer is that we all are healthy and thankful for all we have been blessed with ... peace out:cool2:

Superbob will be splurging and sparing Lady Superbob the toil of cooking, by taking part of the family to an incredible Thanksgiving buffet at a very nice restaurant with seats overlooking a pretty lake. Not only turkey and dressing but standing rib roasts, quail, everything you can imagine, and desserts galore. Tomorrow the rest of the family comes home and we will have a second Thanksgiving feast at home. There will be steel-equivalent weight to lose starting with the Saint Paddy's Day sprint. Happy Thanksgiving, all.

Happy Thanksgiving all, this is going to be a very snowy turkey holiday. We have about 10" so far with another 12 to 15 on the way in the next 24 hours. Looking forward to the st patty's day throwdown!!

Happy thanksgiving to all, from a very hot Hong Kong...I think that winter forgot to come here, cos it's still quite warm!

I went to the doctor today for my quarterly checkup, and I lost 1kg (2.2lb) since last week!!!

I have no idea how this happened, but I am happy!

But, from now on, Christmas parties, Christmas, then Switzerland (Swiss chocolate), and new years!!!

And even though there was that threat, no addresses were PM'd to me for that free slab of chocolate!

David (or 大偉 as they call me here)

Balmy here, too, David, though I understand some cold air is on the way. Congrats on the weight loss. I am recovering from the enormous feasting I did yesterday at a Thanksgiving buffet. Wound up loving the honey-glazed ribs more than the turkey. Samplings of 3 different desserts -- decadent.

I think Duffey was kidding about taking that chocolate from you, but maybe she'll be back to claim it.

Ok.... I'm putting the breaks on the eating and will get on the scales on next weeks thread ... not saying I will reveal the number but I need to get back on track ... life has taken an unexpected turn and I need to embrace it rather than eat my way through it:eek2::thumbup:

Superbob has walked Superdawg, put in an hour in the workout room, will walk Superdawg again now, AND have eaten sensibly today.

Determined not to morph into the Pillsbury Doughboy over the holidays. :p

Going through something difficult and I want to eat junk. Haven't done it and won't, but I want to badly. My mother very probably has lung cancer. They're doing a biopsy Thursday. Prayers appreciated for her as I don't think she can handle chemo, etc.; she is so weak now and dealing with a lot of pain.

I survived Thanksgiving without dessert. I made my own gluten free dressing and it was okay. I really didn't have a big problem.

Now, as Merle Haggard sang, "if we make it through December, we'll be fine." Onward to the New Year and healthier you and me.

Well I made it through one day of controlled eating ... I did allow myself desert after dinner but other than that, no sugar ... Got on the scales this morning and was down 3.5 pounds from yesterday ... I had no soft drinks and added no salt so I know it is fluid that has built, not a good thing for heart folks ... hoping today goes as well ... peace out:cool2:

Forgive me Throwdowners for I have sinned and it is now time to repent - big time! I have been eating since the cruise like a chimp at a banana plantation! I am trying to get back on track this week finally! Why is it that I can work so hard at losing weight and then undo most of my hard work in no time flat! I guess If I had the answer to that question I'd be a millionaire.

Wise - I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. That is not good news at all. You and your family are definitely in my prayers! You did good though to curb your emotional eating. That is so hard. Just calling my surgeon's office to schedule my valve replacement was enough to send me spinning and eating (no firm date yet.) I'm afraid I'm going to be a basket case before this is all over (like I'm not already!)

Seems we have a new throwdowner, or new to me since I haven't even read the last few weeks posts! Welcome DavidR and congrats on the weight loss. :)

I am afraid to get on the scale, but will on Friday and will start the road to taking it back off again. I know it won't be pretty. Did get my lunchtime walks in yesterday and today - so that is good. Now if I could just get myself back to Curves - although I can't go full out there I need to get in the best physical condition I can.

So..... I'm baaaack and will be checking in much more frequently as you guys are the best support group I've had so far to keep me on track! I'm ready for the St. Patty's day race starting Jan 2nd! I'lll even keep the spreadsheet if I could ever figure out how to delete the old ones so I have more space. Actually if things go as planned I will probably be having my surgery in the middle of that racet. Maybe that'll give me an edge?

Later gators!!

Thanks for the kind words friends. It's good to have friends to find support with. Keeping our faith and hope.

Welcome back Rhena! I didn't report my weight last week either. I did go up, but only because I had more carbs, but only those allotted to me with my new food regimen.

Cooker, good on you!

Rhena, welcome back ... I had another fairly good day as far as eating but did end up eating a late supper, that is pretty common with me and a I know it's a problem but it is what it it is ... had to go to NC yesterday and came back with a cold, I don't eat much when I feel bad so maybe I will lose some more:thumbup:
