Here we go on the first weeks reporting on the 2011 St Patty's Day Race! ... I have dropped my 3.5 gain from the first of the week so I imagine the losing for me will slow down a good bit ... Although I was screaming for ice cream on FB I have been processed sugar free (for the most part) this week ... If I could only get on a sensible eating plan and stay on it I would have this think licked but if I could do that I would not have a yo-yo weight problem:rolleyes2: ... I'm going to try and limit myself to one day a week for "bad snacking" ... we will see how that goes:rolleyes2:...........

St Patty's Day Race Starting weight : 215

This week : 211.5 (-3.5)

Superbob has lost 1.4 pounds in the first week of the Saint Paddy's Day Race. :smile2:

This progress comes despite strange messages on FB from a woman named "Mary" who keeps urging SB to put ice cream on top of his salmon cakes. :rolleyes2: Never mind, the girlies will be led astray soon enough by the temptation of chocolate -- never fails.

There is the challenge of the NFL playoffs and the Auburn/Oregon championship game coming up. SB will look for "lite" snacks (though something more substantial than celery) and will step up his workouts to compensate.

Good weight loss so far! I'm weighing tomorrow, and if I have a 1.4 pound weight loss, I will be pleased.

So now that you two have weighed, I think it will be ok for you to eat a little ice cream, devour a delicious scone, consume some cake, cookies, and candy.:smile2:

You both deserve a treat.:smile2:

No Ice Cream but I did have a piece of cheese cake after my Greek salad :biggrin2:

No ice cream either, but I did have one of those teensy (petite) vanilla scones with my Starbucks java. Don't get the regular scones anymore because apparently nowhere in the Grand Strand is there such a thing as a cranberry-orange scone. I'm guessing that since there is so much sex hereabouts, there is no need to have the scone that is the equivalent (or better). :p:p:p

Hi All! Just reading all last weeks posts that I missed and sorry to hear about Janie's Mom. My prayers are with her too. She sent me the nicest PM last week volunteering to come to Austin and hold my hand if I need it.

OK - the race is on. I am working on the spreadsheet as we speak. I figured out how to delete all the ones from the Great Pumpkin race. I don't know what happened to all the guys that were around last time - but this time the girls outnumber the guys and we slyly got a 5 lb boost to start. I still think that is fair though.

On last week's thread SB suggested that I might not play fair and post the correct starting weight for Laurie, but by my calculations, her first weigh in on Sunday 1-2 would count (136.5) - so that is my story and I'm sticking to it!! :tongue2::tongue2: Guys you better get busy cause we are giving you a run for your money. NNGBWH - I assume you are in? You didn't give a starting weight, but you didn't have to.

I'll weigh tomorrow - my usual Friday. I had a pretty good week I think (If last nights margaritas didn't sabotage me.) As soon as i stop eating so many carbs - the water comes right on out.:biggrin2:

Wise - I believe you volunteered to help with spreadsheet - I think I might need that for a couple of weeks after my surgery. If I get it all set up it is more just a matter of plugging in numbers. I'll pm you when the time comes.

Manyana losers!

I weighed in at 135.9 this morning, after going out for Mexican food at lunch yesterday....can you say sodium? But still that's "officially" down .6 from Monday. With lots lower days in between.

I really have to get more than 2 days in a row back on my diet!

I think like Duffey both Cooker and SB need a sweet snack in addition to the ones they have already had. Go ahead and celebrate you guys. I'm down 2 pounds
166.8 starting weight
166.8 this week
-2

I am down three pounds this week. Cindy is weighing tomorrow.

Last Week: 179.3
This Week: 176.3
Loss: 3 lbs.

Wow, the race is on! Congrats to all, Laurie, Marie, Wise, of course The Chimp -- thanks to that 5-pound advantage Rhena negotiated on behalf of the girlies, looks like the race is close at the start.

Superbob will be okay if he can curb his craving for peanut butter at night. He needs no ice cream or chocolates, but peanut butter beckons. Well, it is a healthy food, but has lots of calories...I guess, alas, the key is to spread it thinly on celery. It always comes back to celery.:rolleyes2:

And special congrats to Rhena for snookering the over-confident Chimp into awarding that 5-pound gift to the girly-girls. ; )

I'm down a half pound. 160.5 this week, 161 last week. It's pretty good considering twice this week family members have insisted we stop by the local ice cream parlor . . . yes, I've eaten Cooker's ice cream!:redface2:
Congrats to all who've lost this week. It will be a close race!

Sorry about not weighing in, the retail world has been a little crazy this last month. Earlier this week I was at 218.2 and today I am at 218.8, moo-ving in the wrong direction!! This is even higher than at the start of the great pumpkin race! The holidays can be so cruel but oh so good tasting!!

Wow! We really are off to a pretty darn good start all around aren't we? Glad you are in JJay and no problem about not checking in earlier. Besides, the guys are really going to need you! In fact we will allow newcomers at any point I'd say - we will jut slot them in for the week they start. 10 weeks to go! No matter the winner it is good for all of us - of course I'd much rather win!:biggrin2:

I'm at 204.6 as of this morning - down 6.4 lbs. I knew that water would come off fast. Now it will be more tough going.

Keep up the good work ladies! OK - the guys too -you too had some good losses this week.

Good grief ... the newly remodeled Krispy Kreme now serves Krispy Kreme Sundaes ... hot Krispy Kreme donut topped with soft serve, chocolate syrup and nuts:eek2: ...

As far as staying away from Texas women and not negotiating, please ... if am to go down it will be in flames ... come on men, I know you are not rattled this early in the game!!!

The Chimp is diving into Krispy Kreme Sundaes and giving away pounds to the girlies, and he says not to worry. :rolleyes2::rolleyes2::biggrin2:

I posted this morning on the wrong thread. In short, Cindy gained a fraction of a pound, .4 to be exact. So. last week she weighted 146.2; this week, 146.6.
