Okay, starting the new weeks' thread after midnight -- an hour when I try to stay away from the fridge. I guess sleeping might be a good weight loss program for me.

Will strive to weigh in morning.

Working hard in PT for back -- that may have a benefit. One week into six week regimen.

Also found at eye doc appointment today that diabetes has not taken a further toll on one of my eyes in past year, so eye surgery is off the table for now.

Decisions fron ortho and cardio pending. Life is richly blessed but never simple.

Hey did you see that Henry Kissinger got AVR at age 91 the other day? Hope for we old farts.

Okey, dokey, hope all of you Throwdowners including those who haven't posted lately (cause once a Throwdowner, always a Throwdowner:tongue2:) are having good weeks and summers. Give us a shout-out if you're passing by this way.

Cheerio,

Sir Superbob

scales do not present a pretty picture for me -- now up a couple for the year, and I don't like that. Guess when The Chimp is back in charge here, we'll set up some sort of sprint or marathon to get the motivation going.

One thing I know -- I am not splurging with my food right now -- not indulging in rich desserts etc. I honestly think my new diabetes med is not kind for weight loss, but maybe that's an initial effect. Anyway, up to me to overcome it, work through things, and be able to continue the good blood sugar numbers I'm lately getting while also shedding a few (or 10)…..

cheers…..

Sir Superbob, I like that. Well Sir, I hope that your PT for your back yields excellent results. Spinal stenosis can be pretty painful I here. Also, I hope you adjust to the new med and that your weight starts reflecting your efforts!

I am doing much better this week. My doc does not want me to weigh but to concentrate on getting better. I can already tell that my tummy is shrinking though. I have had no table sugar or processed sugary foods for a week and it actually hasn't been as hard as this sugar addict expected.

Glad to hear you're doing better, Wise. This no-sugar thing may be something I ought to try -- though I do try to cut down on it.

Sorry your reply was hanging out here so long, but it appears many Throwdowners are globe-trotting or otherwise off partying (probably with some sugary products involved)….:rolleyes2:

Greetings from Fairbanks! We are on the final leg of TheChimps big adventure in the great state of Alaska. It has been a blast but ready to get home and back to God's Country. Who knew there was so much food here. I fear the airline might hit me with an overweight charge!!!!!

Sounds like you've had a good time! No worrying about weight on vacation, it's a natural law. Airlines, that's a different story.

On the road and checking in from I-90 in southern WI. No scales at the vacation home, but I have two Norske Nook pies in the backseat so that might not bode well for next week's weigh in.

I looked up Norske Nook. I first thought it was a brand of pie, now I know they are the real deal. Enjoy! Calories are not counted on vacations.

I just passed by the Norske Nook myself yesterday on my way back from Adirondacks!! . . . didn't stop though.

2 weeks vacation and only gained a pound so I count that as a big win. Boundary Waters next and that should produce a loss. It's amazing how having to tote a 80 pound food pack makes you willing to get by on less. : )

Boundary waters sounds great! Truth be told, the NN pies were requested by our son who stayed home to watch the house and dogs. Of course, I have eaten a piece or two since our return!

We have a bakery right next door in little ol' Conway, SC that makes pies that would put NNs' in the shade. It's the Trestle, and dang now I've got a hankering to pay a visit to it -- though it should be off-limits to me of suspect sugars and easy melted steely resolve. :tongue2:

Sounds like a pie-Throwdown is in our future!

Ok everyone get ready for the 2014 Sprint To Labor Day! My thanks to SuperBob for taking the helm while I was in Alaska packing on the pounds (sandbagging) in preparation for the STLD.

We will start the sprint with this weeks weight and boy am I ready to get started. I'm ashamed to say that I really packed it on this summer. Just can't figure out why I can't get with the program.

The prize for the winner of the 2014 STLD will be an autographed picture of TheChimp.
