I have been a BAD Chimp ... I have indulged in every type of culinary pleasure I could get my hairy little hands on and the results is a five pound gain ... I’m a little mad at myself but it is what it is and chimps will be chimps ....:rolleyes2:

How has your week turned out? ... By the way ......

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUFFEY
2013 Starting Weight: 231
Last Weigh In : 223.00
Todays Weight: 228.00
YTD: -3

So far, so good. I haven't been able to get to the gym as much as I usually do, but I've somehow managed to control my weight. This morning's weigh-in was exactly 160.0. Since my goal is to be in the 150's, I can see it from here!

Chimp, don't be mad. You can probably lose all of that with just a few swings on the tree vines.

Great job Steve and SB!

Here's Cindy's and my reports for this week:

CINDY:

Starting weight: 157.8
Last Week: 154.2
This Week: 150.2
Weekly loss: 4
Loss YTD: 7.6

WISE:

Starting weight: 194.5
Last Week: 177.5
This Week: 175.5
Weekly loss: 2
Loss YTD: 19

After complaining about being up earlier in the week, I'm really pleased to lose 2 lbs. Cindy is very happy with her loss, however she has been have tummy issues for a while and she didn't eat altogether normally this week either. She's having some testing done to help determine what's the problem. Prayers appreciated since she really hasn't felt good for a bit and needs to resolve this issue!

Happy Birthday Duffey!!!!!!!! I hope you have an absolutely awesome celebration, whether it's low key or jacked up. Have a second piece of fruit pie for me!!!!!

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I don't feel a day over 35!:biggrin2:

Wise, I'll keep Cindy in my prayers. Having had a go-round with digestive issues earlier this Spring, I know that they can be serious.

Congrats Steve, Bob, Cindy and Wise on your weekly numbers. Cooker, I bet you'll have your extra weight off by next week plus more.

I'm down a pound for the week . . . gotta love my magic scales!

Starting weight: 151.5
Last week's weight: 146.5
This week's weight: 145.5
Loss for the year: -6

You need to hire out those magic scales, Duffey. Lots of cake (or pie) with the ice cream celebrating a Happy Birthday, you hear? I'm sure the magic scales will accommodate.

So sorry Cindy's having those issues, Wise. Tell her we're all thinking of her and wishing her the best.

I generally don't eat avacados - I've been watching fat intake for decades, and don't feel that they're worth their fat. If I'm eating something with fat, I want it to be something that once walked, flew or swam. Growing on a plant doesn't count.

Milk shakes don't hit my menu often, either. I don't "do" dairy products other than the occasional taste of cheese. I never liked milk (If milk was so good for all, wouldn't adult cattle drink it, too?) and avoid ice cream because of its fat content. We eat frozen yogurt instead.

So, with all of these dietary dangers on my "do not eat" list, why do I have so much trouble losing weight?

Blend Duffey's avocados into your milk shakes and that might solve the problem for you both. Even though I love both of those foods, well...you know. Just saying. Lol.

I don't know. I really like avocados.:wink2:
I guess I will publicly announce that I have made a commitment to run, yes run, a 5K race next year. Our son in law, who's never run a lick in his life, trained this winter so he could participate in the 5K Run our daughter and I organized in 2012. He not only completed it, he ran it with a time of 32 minutes. So now it's my turn.:eek2:
Feel free to periodically quiz me on my progress and bug me if I'm slacking.:cool2:

SB, i agree those scones are perfect!

Avocados, of course, are perfect also, Duffey. They have a very healthy fat, so I eat them with other healthy foods, i.e. salads, lean meat, almost anything.

Duffey, you go girl!! You can do it!!! We have your back (with our hands and bossy attitudes pushing all the way). Have you ran around the block yet today?

Start out short and easy, work your way up to the 5K or more. I started out slow-jogging a half mile to the "dog lot" three times a day with our little dog. Eventually I was running, then I became too fast for the dog and had to go out on my own for exercise. That was the start of 30+ years of running almost daily. I still miss it a lot, but my knees don't. I just do my exercise bike and speed-walk on an inclined treadmill to get my HR up now. I still like it, though, but wish I could run once in a while. It becomes addicting.
