Greetings!! I am down one pound this week. I was down a bit more but life happened :biggrin2: I'm continuing to walk and try and eat properly but I tell you it is hard. I love good food and relaxing in my overstuffed recliner:tongue2:

Keeping this short this morning as I'm off to the links!!! How was your week? Lose any? Any great southern summer recipes? Looking forward to hearing about your week!!!

2014 Starting weight: 231
This week: 227

Admire your diligence, Mr. Chimp.

My own -- not so much. It is time to face the music. I have squandered all the progress I made starting in December and I am back to where I started. The 7 or 8 pounds I lost have been rediscovered.

Got back on my WW scales this morning and saw the truth I'd been evading by using old, clunkier scales.

Just careless eating. And I need more exercise than just walking sweet Sadie dog, who is getting up in years and likes to go very slowly and sniff every interesting scent.

Got to supplement the walking (a half-hour a day in the workout room would be a start), and resume monitoring everything I eat. Though tempted to do so several times, I have not discontinued Weight Watchers. Need to reset and make use of it.

Got to redeem myself.

Hope the rest of you are doing better than I am.

UPDATE: Okay, I have completely reset my WW current weight, target weight, and tracking. Starting all over again. I suppose I'm not the first person in history to do this.

Bob you are a true inspiration! Always ready to look the bull in they eye, take your lumps and get back on track... you are now an official South Carolina Boy and we don't shy away from a fight and never, ever give up.... For what it's worth this tree swinger has your back:thumbup:

Thanks, Cooker. It is amazing how rapidly the progress can be gobbled up, so to speak. I think I've made a good start toward recovery today -- did a midday workout in addition to the usual walk, and had baked chicken and tossed salad for dinner. No cookies, candies, cake, etc. so far today…. bought a bunch of fruit for snack time….got to be strong, like a good South Carolinian!

One thing bout eating stupidly out of control for a spell is that when you finally come to your senses, you may see some results quickly. Thus, I'm down 2 since yesterday. But have to be realistic: getting rest of the way (to where I need to be) won't be that easy. Got to maintain the rediscovered steely resolve. :thumb up:

Now… where are our other Throwdowners --- want to hear how they are doing!

SB and Cooker, I have to say you are both great examples of sucking it up and owning where you're at. I, on the other hand, struggle with that issue as much as I struggle with the weight see saw. I have gained more than half of my total WW loss, but I have not totally given up. I can only say that I hope to have a good upcoming week.

Also, SB, the resetting with WW certainly isn't a unique happening. You have officially joined the club. I know that WW really does work, but lasting results are realized in the long term simply because we are all human and we do stall and stumble. *Raises stumbling hand*

Of course, I have to add the throwdowner formerly known as the Ref as an good example, even if she would argue. She always owns up, eventually and much better than do I.

Hello Nelson if you're peeking in. I missed the last opportunity to respond to your visit.

darnole, I really need to take the advice you were giving about exercise. I honest in that I know I won't join a class, but I can do some exercise at home. I will commit to three sessions of home exercise this week. Hold me to it, if you're checking in.

Hey throwdowner formerly know as the Ref, I hope little Charlie is recuperating well.

SB, when do your talented grands start their next round of sports accomplishments? I know that they are going to keep you busy this summer. You know that they sell sunblock that blocks 100% of the sun. That's what I would use if I were in the sun. You however may not be such a pale face as I am.

well, thanks for asking, Wise. Tomorrow my amazing granddaughter plays in a big Ripken baseball tournament here against teams from Massachusetts, Maryland, and North Carolina. I assume she'll be the only girl on these 10u teams, or at least one of few. Plays at least 2 games in middle of day -- good news is it's supposed to be 10 degrees cooler and less humid than today after the big storms finish rumbling through tonight. Maybe the grandparents can survive. Personally, I wish she were playing an 8 a.m. soccer match or an indoor basketball game. I assume she can hold her own with this baseball stuff til she moves to women's softball (and hopefully plays for the Lady Vols someday)….:biggrin2:

I tried to reset with WW but when I weighed in, it stuck with the old settings and had me correctly up. Which is probably for the best. Extra incentive to get back on track without cooking the books. :wink2:

I appreciated dornole's exercise advice -- hope I didn't come off otherwise. Always appreciate the exchange of ideas here.

All best to you and Cindy, Mr. Kentucky Flash. Through all our struggles, you are always there providing hope and inspiration.

With the help of a nasty flu bug, high fever and intestinal distress, I'm down two and a half pounds. That's still two pounds more than the start of the year, but I'm hopeful I've turned the corner and better weight days are ahead. We are an optimistic bunch! Our kids are home for the holiday week-end, 5-K next Saturday (my birthday and I will take presents) then vacation in 13 days. Hopefully I'll stay busy enough to ignore any food cravings. Everyone have a great week!

Oh my goodness, Duffey -- that is not the preferred way to lose weight! :eek2: Hope you feel better very soon.

Hey throwdowners,

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Pretty hot out there today.

Just got back from Ireland where the Guinness, I mean FOOD, was great. I knew when I got home and stepped on the scales, I wouldn't like what I would see. I was right. And we walked and walked and walked. It is a beautiful country, steeped in a rich history. So it was worth it.

Sounds like a great time!

I dread this week's weigh in:eek2: ... been working crazy hours, not walking and eating on the run!!! ... To top it off today is National Hamburger Day :biggrin2:

Oh man, can't fail to honor National Hamburger Day, can I? Does a Big Mac qualify as a hamburger? :tongue2:

I indulged in BBQ over Memorial Day == probably doesn't bode well for my weigh-in either… and how else is there to survive at kids' baseball tournaments over the summer than by eating hot dogs? (Got to have protein, you know.) :cool2:

P.S. For the record, I am having Lean Cuisine, not a burger, for lunch.
