Although Friday is the customary weigh-in day, we have a tradition of opening the Throwdown on Thursdays in consideration of our Throwdowners Down Under. We haven't seen them here for a long time, but we would dearly love to have the Aussies and Kiwis back, if only to drop in and say hello.

Superbob has taken a sneak peek and still sees the 250s (if barely), so the Man of Steel is pleased about that, but will weigh tomorrow to see if he can hold the line on what he reported last week. Don't think there will be any additional loss this week but would be happy to maintain for a bit, before making further (needed) downward progress.

Superbob has to go to the hospital in a bit for a pre-op workup of diagnostic tests and lab work that his instructions say will last at least 3 hours (so I am assuming more; better bring a protein snack).

It will be interesting to see what effect, if any, the 6 hours daily of rehab in April/May will have on weight. Aren't we forever in a state of experiment of one kind or another? Ain't life a kick?

I know The Chimp is taking a well-deserved break from leading us, but we would love it if he would swing in here occasionally and tell us what he is up to.

All best wishes to all Throwdowners this week -- hope to hear from each and every one of you.

Happy trails!

I'll be the first to weigh in and will admit a 1.1 gain for the week. I haven't done better or worse foodwise, but this tells me I need to be doing better! Good luck all!

I had a 1.2 pound gain...it's so hard for me to tell if it's real...water retention messes me up quite a bit. I'm going to assume it's water in order to keep from getting discouraged!

Don't get discouraged, guys and gals. One-pound fluctuations are not a big deal -- we're working with the long term.

Exercise -- SB is struggling. Don't need to elaborate on that. Hoping better days are ahead.

Hi, everyone! I'm another one who is up a pound this week. I'm fairly sure it is fluid due to sodium - it is hard to gain a pound over a couple of days from anything else.

I'll be around here, but will probably be missing some training after next week. Another medical issue about to rear its ugly head - I'll stop back and tell you about it when I have more time. Also, I'll stop back with mileage stats for the past week, too.

Must be contagious -- we have a definite trend this week of a pound or two up.

Superbob is up nearly 2 pounds for the week.

He's at 259. Started the year at 265. Still, that's a 6 pound loss net for the year, and he's in the 250s -- need to stay there, and then go lower. was 257.2 a week ago (if memory serves; I haven't looked it up), but I think that may have been the scales giving me a little more credit than I had truly earned.

I have the excuse of limited walking range, but I am spending too much time on the dad-gum computer -- need to set me a timer to tell me to get off of it every half-hour and do some stretching and some floor exercises; just walk around the house, or down the block and back. Every little bit helps.

Hang in there, guys -- the birds are chirping, Spring is coming, we shall prevail!

I'm down a pound for the week. Talk about hovering . . . I'm right on the border between the 140's and the 150's. I need to push myself this upcoming week and see if I can do it.
Last week's weight: 151
This week's weight: 150

Miles walked this week: 9.1
Total miles walked: 16.0 +/- a few tenths

Glad I'm keeping good company! Hopefully we'll all lose next week.

I'm working today, but will figure up my "mileage" later. Not much to report honestly due to lousy weather. It's much better today and will be better tomorrow, but alas I will be hard pressed to find time. Ugh!

Wise, I agree with your weather assessment! Although I enjoy walking in chilly weather, it seems that chilly has been paired too often with rain and snow this winter. I hope winter doesn't skip spring and go straight into summer. I definitely can not walk outside when it's hot.

Go Duffey!

I'll post my mileage on Monday when I get back to the office and have my journal handy.

I agree about the weather. I was looking out my office window last Wednesday, as it snowed those huge fluffy flakes and covered the bushes with about 4 inches of the stuff. There was a very bewildered cardinal sitting atop the bushes, asking herself "What the *(^() is going on here? I thought you said spring was coming. What's all this white junk everywhere? I'm leaving!"

Too bad we couldn't all fly away with her.

Greetings ... glad to see all are well ... part of my sabbatical is that I’m staying as far away from the scales as I can ... I’m trying to eat right and exercise daily ... I will be swinging by from time to time and will jump back in when SuperBob gets his bionic knee installed .... keep on keeping on

Food? Did somebody say food?

I'm trying to be good, and will soon be curtailing my caloric intake at doctors' direction. Next medical journey starts soon. I'll update y'all later - just know that this one is not heart related and not life-threatening.

Steve, it's good to know that what's coming up is not heart related or life threatening, but if you are like me, you'd just as soon skip another medical jaunt.
I'm getting my exercise this week, actually went swimming yesterday, but the scales haven't budged.
By the way, where's Laurie?
