Greetings! I hope everyone is well. I have been true to my plan and it has paid off; down 3.5 for the week. I’m off to the gym this morning for swim number five for the week and I have stayed low carb and watched the amount I ate at meals (no seconds, need a bigger plate).:biggrin2:

I think the idea SuperBob had for this maintenance phase was a stroke of genius!!! No way I want to obsess over the holidays about eating but this will encourage me to stay reasonable. I AM going to eat the big Christmas meal and enjoy the church fellowships (aka food fests).

Did we say that the goal was +/- 3 pounds from now until years end? Seems like I read that but I’m to lazy to go look for it.

Have a great week!!!

Maintenance Phase Starting Weight 228.5
Last Week .... 228.5
This Week .... 225.0
Maintenance Status .... -3.5

Congrats, Mr. Chimp, you're doing great!

Yes plus or minus 3 was my idea for us to attain winner status in the Maintenance Race to New Year's.

Superbob is starting with 265 (what he weighed yesterday and last week) as his maintenance weight. That was down from the 270.9 at the beginning of the recent Marathon to Turkey Day, which (ahem) Superbob won.

Sb is a little embarrassed to post his weights weekly, but he is an old defensive lineman, after all. His job used to be to squash quarterbacks like June bugs. :p So he is a big boy, but for sake of long-term health he needs to continue trimming. SB's goal is to be on minus side of the maintenance goal, at least a pound or two, and then start 2013 with more significant losses. Getting into the 250s would be "big" for him. :smile2:

Good luck to all!

Bob, that sounds like a good goal and I'm sure you can make it!! I really need this thread to keep me mindful of what I need to be doing. If I had stayed the course from the begining I would weigh -150:biggrin2:

Don't ever be embarrassed about your weight; it is what it is ... we are all striving for better health. There has never been any mean posts on this thread and there will not be or TheChimp will open up a 55 gal. drum of whoop-ass:biggrin2:

SB you big framed and tall football players should carry more weight. Sounds normal to e.

As for me, who isn't tall or big framed, I am embarrassed to post this week's weight. In fact, I won't because I very stubbornly refused to weigh this morning. I know it would be BAD. Staying with the same start weight, but will post my progress next Friday.

Also, congrats Cooker for the progress you're making. Two simian thumbs up!

Good on you SB for maintaining after last week! Great feat!

I started the Turkey Day race weighing 148.5.
Today's scale read 151.5. That's the +3 pound leeway right there!:eek2:
My goal is to stay below the 151.5 mark and start the New Year ready to get the extra weight off.

We can all make it though the "season of eating" without gaining if we watch what we eat and keep moving!!! We can do it!! It does not mater where you start as long as you start!!!

Alas, Superbob is feeling the symptoms of the Creeping Crud take hold. Was trying to fight it off but it's taking hold now; even a superhero is no match for the crud. :eek2: Don't know how this will affect weight; sure don't have much appetite, but this is not the way you want to lose weight. Guess I will call doc in the morning and see if he has any ammo to help knock it out. :frown2:

Good advice Cooker. I'll endeavor to keep moving!

Sorry that your turn has arrived. The crud is certainly cruddy! Hope you're able to get a prescription to combat those nasty cruddy creepers.

I haven't gotten my flu shot yet, but I intend to before the week is over. They're reporting that we have some cases in the county, and adjoining states have had significant outbreaks. TN is one, so I hope SB didn't didn't catch it over Thanksgiving.

Had my flu shot and crossing my fingers ... the crud is going around here and I had a touch but started meds before it got a good foot-hold ... Bob, try to eat, it helps fight the crud, feel better....

I am a little better, thanks. I don't know if it was technically the flu or not, but if I ran down my laundry list of symptoms, you might deduce that. (TMI, however). And yes I had my flu shot -- we get them every year. Could have helped keep my case fairly mild. I think I most likely picked up the crud or flu or whatever traveling on those packed airplanes, which are germ laboratories or incubators.

Thing is, I don't remember ever have anything take away my appetite so completely. Nothing appealed. The closest was French toast (with no-sugar syrup) from Crackerbarrel but I could only eat about half of it.

It's been a rough week -- have also had the young, energetic, early-rising Wonder Dawg as a house guest while my son is at the baseball winter meetings in Nashville. And all I will get, I suppose, is a lousy t-shirt. :rolleyes2:

Hope you keep improving SB! I haven't had a flu like illness for many years, but I don't want to start now. May have to get a flu shot. Never have gotten one, but my doctor mentioned it to me. So, I'll ask him about that tomorrow since I have an appointment.

Well I tried to get a flu shot today during my appointment, but because egg sensitivity I was denied the shot. Dr. C told that there is a particularly bad strain of flu present in our county. So I guess I'll wash my hands a lot and run from people who are coughing. Other than that I get three months to lower my cholesterol by diet changes and exercise. I really want to accomplish that!

Hope everyone is having a good week.
