I hope this week's thread finds everyone well. This has been a heck of a week and I have not even thought about dieting and still managed to drop a pound! Trying to wrap my head around this dieting yo-yo that I seem to be riding year after year. Diets don,t work, great resolve may be the only hope.... anyone know where I can find some?
:Face-Laugh:

Have a great week!!!

2015 Starting Weight: 243.50

This Week's Weight: 241.50

By the way..... we have some long time Throwdowners missing in action........Duffey, Wise, Cindy....... Hope all is well!!!

Ann has joined in and Jim is back, Yeah!!!!

Finding resolve is often tough...where can you buy it? I just got sick of carrying extra weight plus my docs were threatening to put me on bp pills. so that gave me the resolve to go on the low card diet. This week I'm 198.8 about the same as last week, so I may be at a maintenance point but with a BMI of 23.6 I could still be less I guess. But I don't know how i can eat less or give up the few pleasures I still enjoy...a daily cocktail and a couple of chocolates. Today I had my last dental appointment pre-surgery. Got my dental clearance after an extraction last Friday. So now it's just the wait until Feb 16 and hoping not to get the flu or that we get hit with some major snowstorm.

Jim you are doing great maintaining your weight and I for one would not give up the cocktail or chocolates ... what is life without the simple pleasures????

Hang in there Jim -- sending good vibes your way. Last time I had a BMI of 23.6 I was still in grade school. ; ) That is to say 23.6 sounds positively svelte to me. In my current fog of being a 24/7 nurse, I am down 4 pounds from where I was at one time in the past month, but have no week to week comparisons. Getting meals is a problem -- we do way too much takeout. I try to make healthy selections as best I can.

Question. I have gained a ridiculous amount of weight over the last 21 mths. For a few reasons first l got sober (so mo more cocktails) over here. Lol ! secondly l have had very little energy and remain extremely breathless. What generally happens after surgery do people usually lose weight or gain it. I am officially a chocolateholic. I have also been comfort eating due to stres or anxiety.

Hi there throwdowners! I haven't been posting in a long, long while on the forum. But I have recently decided to get back to eating healthy for the 50th try and this time I think it's sticking. I too gained a lot of weight because of the Lyrica I take for Fibromyalgia pain and I too love chocolate and more sweets I am not suppose to eat. But putting all of that aside and eating nothing but healthy foods finally. I don't like the way I look in the mirror and I am having anxiety attacks. I don't know if that has anything to do with eating unhealthy but time to get it together. So here I am. This year will be my 6th year since I had my mechanical valve, so I need to try to at least eat healthy . It was nice to read all your posts again.

Blake, welcome and I hope you find help here... I know you will find support ... there are several things I have accomplished that took MANY tries and weight is not one of them; yet. I believe if we don't give up there is a chance..... I know what you mean about the mirror but remember your weight does NOT define you... peace out
