Greetings ... I have managed to drop 3 pounds this week; a miracle ... I have done well on low-cab but I have had to have a day or so when a snack was a must but I got back on the horse (Horse has no carbs)...:tongue2:

How about you guys and gals, how did your week go? ... I hope all of you are well and making good progress ... the main thing is that whatever happens we don’t quit ... I have had many times I wanted to throw the towel in and would have if not for you guys ... strength in numbers ... you bet!! ... We can all be winners the battle of the bulge:thumbup:

Thanksgiving Day Marathon Starting Weight: 217
Last Week .... 224
This Week .... 221
Marathon Stats .... +3

Great job Cooker! I agree, if not for this group of nuts I would've given up several time. I can't do that though.

Age 53, so far, is being less than kind to me physically. Another reason I can't afford to stay overweight. My foot decided to swell at my toe joint and my back has been a roaring bear. Foot is better, but my back is sticking its tongue out at me. I'm doing well this week though and hope to lose close to two pounds.

Hang tough my brothe ...

Was The Chimp riding his horse when he scored the hole in one? :eek2: Sorry, having image overload; trouble sorting it out.:confused2:

Anyway congrats to the Chimp for the start of his comeback. Knew he would do it; always does.

As for Superbob, he is officially weighing in tomorrow or maybe Saturday. Scales are being jumpy today -- I"m almost of a mind to ask my doc about fluid retention since I haven't been on an eating binge. But maybe the scales will settle back down. Maybe they were in a bad mood this morning. :rolleyes2:

Good job, Cooker.
I'm sure my scales would record a weight that would put Me in a Bad Mood if I stepped on them today, so I will wait until tomorrow. :wink2:

You should check with your doc about fluid retention, SB. Maybe it's not an issue, but in case it is, you need to be aware of it. I deal with it everyday, and not only does it mess with my weight, it also puts extra stress on my heart.:mad2:

Cindy is back in the fold as of this morning. Here's our better late than never starting and ending weights for this week:

Cindy:

Start: 155.8
Today: 155.1
Loss: .7

Wise:

Start: 188.5
Today: 184.8
Loss: 3.7

Hope everyone has a great day! Good luck with the scale today Duffey and Superbob, or tomorrow if that's the case.

Also, I wanted to share something I read posted by a guy on the Weight Watchers website. Essentially he said "if you are consistently close, it will work for you." I thought most of us could relate. That has been true for me except when I ventured faaaaar away. My aim is to be consistent but not perfect.

Good report, Wise. Good philosophy, too.

The best Superbob can say is that he's still down 1.7 pounds for the Turkey Day Marathon.

The depressing part is that a big loss he scored last week has vanished. And I don't know why: no buffets, no cakes, no cookies, no chips, no candy during the past week -- not even a single scone. No middle of the night snacking. Maybe I should eat salmon and snow peas every day if I want to ever lose any significant weight.:frown2:

I'm in the doldrums....

That's a bummer Superbob. I would be in the doldrums also. Maybe it's fluid as Duffey had said. Hopefully your weight starts to shift to reflect your good behavior!

It's not been a good weight loss week for me. I'm at 151 which is a 1.5 pound gain for the week, and a 2 pound gain for the contest.:eek2: I'll try to do better starting today.:wink2:

Wise, you're doing great, and I'm sure Cindy will too. :smile2:

Superbob, being able to claim a loss for the Turkey Day Marathon is a plus!

Cooker, whose idea was it to go to the Cheesecake Factory? If it was Sherry's, then it's ok. Otherwise, you should have your butt kicked.:tongue2:

Eva! Time to report in!:smile2:

Adjusted weight:

Superbob is down 2.8 pounds for the Turkey Day Marathon (not 1.7 as earlier reported).

Booth review reveals that the inflation catalyst was a large tin of cocktail peanuts, carelessly munched during football games. :eek2:

No prune juice cocktails have been used in beginning the process of correcting this stupid choice of food. :tongue2:

Got to be smart: Nuts are good, but not heavily salted ones. From now on, SB will get the raw unsalted peanuts and bag them carefully into rationed quotas of permissible snack calories.

Duffey, you'll shed those two pounds in no time!

Yay Superbob! That's the good type of adjustment. Attitude adjustment is the one I had to make. It's good that you've identified the salty little culprits of your temporary gain.

Superbob will be challenged to lose any weight this week, or even maintain. Tomorrow is anniversary No. 46, and DW naturally expects to be taken to the nicest restaurant, in fact maybe a couple of them, for foods rich in sauces and plentiful in sweetness. Maybe SB will go for salmon, the great weight reducer. Probably no celery though. :biggrin2: Could be a bountiful seafood restaurant by the sea. Of course, DW deserves it -- can you comprehend any woman putting up with SB for nearly half a century? :biggrin2:

Happy 46th Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Superbob! May your day be first of all Super, and then may it be joyful, blessed and full of fun. Enjoy!

Congrats Mr & Mrs Superbob!!! ... I have been eating in your honor:redface2:

Me too. I had impromptu beef brisket at Famous Dave's yesterday. Delicioso por supuesto (very delicious of course) pero ahora tengo que recuperar (but now I need to recover).
