Happy Thanksgiving!!! I'm going to start this Friday Throwdown as usual on Thursday and it just happens to be Thanksgiving! It's early morning and the eating has yet to begin but it won't be long!! I have decided to change the way I post my weight and just round up and forget the fractions of pounds... seem pointless for this Chimp. So I'm up 8 pounds for the RTND15 and down 1 for the week.... second week in a row I've headed in the right direction!!!

Now to the real important question. What are you thankful for? I'm going to list my top three.

1. A wonderful wife of nearly 32 years. (we are just young-ins)
2. Good friends.
3. A mended heart.

Have a great day!!!

Oh I almost forgot to mention it....... Tis the season for mulligans.... take one when you need one!!!!!

RTNYD15 Starting Weight: 231

Happy Thanksgiving, Throwdowners!

Son of Superbob and his beautiful wife and kids went to do Thanksgiving with other kinfolk in Virginia this year, but before leaving he took us to a couple of the finest eateries in the Grand Strand. Plus, it rained for four days so I walked Superdawg very little….so I am skeered to step on the scales. At noon today, DW and I are going to one of our favorite restaurants that has an amazing Thanksgiving buffet. It's earlier than we usually eat the feast, but our usual mid-afternoon time was booked up. Anyway, I know I will have pounds to work off later but I am not going to be "eaten up" by guilt. Mulligan time. LOL

Some of the things for which I am grateful (may write a blogpost later today if can find the time between football games (ha!) ----

My wonderful family, starting with my wife of 48 years; son and daughter who have turned out super-great; four healthy and happy grandchildren.

Living in a country where we have freedom of speech, press, and religion and the ability to work toward a more perfect union.

Being able in my eighth decade to continue to strive for mobility and good health -- including my mended heart, my mended knee, and (hopefully) my mending back.

Superdawg, who survived a badly dislocated hip (your prayers helped!) several years ago, and whose face is now snow white with age but whose spirit is undiminished, And the young wonderdawg, Dasher, who nominally lives next door but spends much of his time (including this Thanksgiving) with us. He is energy personified.

Close friends (many of whom are right here -- folks I've only met through cyberspace but to whom I feel connected).

My birds that still come to my feeder with the protection of my gorgeous line of cedar trees, despite the construction of new homes that took down the nearby woods. And the shorebirds we see and enjoy when we venture to the coastline and magical places like Brookgreen Gardens.

Of course…. baseball! Go Redbirds! And football -- Go Vols!

Much, much more.

Have a wonderful day, dear friends!

I'm grateful for the ability to change and the concious mind to make positive change...tis the season to mulligan. : ) Happy Thanksgiving!

I am in the Crescent City, New Orleans. Visiting my son, with daughter and wife. The boy's a chef, so the last three days have been like an episode on the food channel, but w/o the drama.

Be careful on Black Friday.

Happy Thanksgiving + 1! We're off to get our Christmas tree from our local tree farm. Most of the kids and grandkids are home for another day so I would be doing good to even get into the room where the scales are kept, much less step on them!
As always, I'm thankful for my family and friends. Good health also tops my list of blessings. I try my best to live each day in the moment and always be grateful for what I have been given.

Sparing you the details, I was in the bathroom most of 3 a.m. to 6 a.m., then at 6 the dogs (my son's has joined us for the holiday) naturally decided they want out for a break. Then they disappeared! So at 6, feeling "sick as a dog," I was roaming the neighborhood with a flashlight trying to call the dogs without waking the neighbors. They finally reappeared a half-hour later. My son seems to think we can make do without a fence -- easy for him to say! I am going to get estimates next week and borrow the money if I have to. I am too old and hobbled to be a dog keeper without a security fence. Positive side: I must have lost some poundage out of all this! :Face-Crying:

Bob I'm sorry to hear of your "plight". Dogs on the loose really is a pain. I had to fence my labs in but had a spaniel that was an escape artist!! Good luck!

Kind of quiet around here this week. I hope our members who are recuperating are well on the way to full recovery!!! I'm still doing pretty well and really trying to embrace "The Bonnie" with slow is best and one pound a week is the way to go. I know she is cheering us on!!!

I'm here - I loved reading the tales of thanks from everyone. My weight is up but I feel like I have a fresh start for December. Good planning and tracking yesterday, good self-brainwashing to build motivation, and today I made myself gear up for the subzero windchill and ended up walking two hours. I was just dying to be outside after the whole Turkey on Toe incident. I even ran a little today and my toe feels fine. It felt SO GOOD to be outside and get my blood moving. I was getting a little depressed moping inside these past three weeks.

So I'm really thankful that I have really warm winter gear - a safe and beautiful neighborhood to enjoy - the time I need to take care of myself - for my precious five children and husband - and I will steal this from Superbob "Living in a country where we have freedom of speech, press, and religion and the ability to work toward a more perfect union." - that is beautifully put.

Keep up the good work Cooker you're on a roll!! doing what works : )
