Happy Independence Day! We live in the greatest nation on earth; we are a blessed people!

I have managed to drop a few pounds this week. My weight seems to be bi-polar, up or down. It’s frustrating but I know that when I eat sensibly I lose weight and when I let myself go (days at a time) I gain. It really does not seem to make any difference what I eat, just how much. This week I have had two lunches of hamburgers and fries, sensible dinners including DW’s seasonal fruit cobblers and lost weight. I think I will just eat what I want, try and control portions and let the “chips” fall where they may. I think it is also noteworthy that I have had no in between or after dinner snacks.

How has your week been? I really appreciate everyone’s weekly participation. I’m not sure why this thread seems to stay alive but it sure helps me stay in check. I shudder to think where I would be without the accountability that all of you provide.

Have a great 4th of July weekend and be safe!

2013 Starting Weight: 231
Last Weigh In : 231.5
Todays Weight: 226.5
YTD: -4.5

Good goin', Mr. Chimp! I didn't have a chance for nekkid weighing this morning, and pretty sure I won't want to tomorrow morning, post-Fourth --- so it may be weekend for me, or a mulligan. I'll try to do weekend.

Wow, we seem a little discombobulated this long holiday weekend -- one thread inadvertently blocked access to some (well, at least to me) so we have this second thread.

Anyway, all will get back to normal....

Superbob was furious at himself for eating like an oink-oink on the 4th and no longer "seeing the 250s" on July 5.... but some damage control has been done, and he's back to 257.7 this morning -- that's up 1.5 from a week ago, but that's not calamitous -- can still be repaired with a good week of proper eating and exercise.

For the year:

Starting weight: 265

Today: 257.7

Net loss for year: 7.3

Today DW wants to use a gift card she received some time ago to celebrate the Fourth some more and go to the finest seafood restaurant in the region -- one of best anywhere, Sea Captain's. SB knows it all will be good --- will get seafood broiled, spare the sauces, get low-cal salad dressing, only a little butter on side for the potato dish, and if we get any decadent dessert, will take most of it home, and enjoy slowly over a few days. That's the plan for enjoying but not wrecking the SB strategy for silver fitness.

Was good to hear from Cooker and Steve -- hope to hear from some more of you for this week or, if not, for certain want to see you here next week. (And okay, SB knows Sunday is the first day of the week - he's talking about Throwdown weeks. : )

Greetings fellow Throwdowners!

We got home last night, and I dreaded the thought of weighing this morning. I have eaten more pie than you can shake a stick at, but the scales don't seem to have registered the expected amount of damage . . . . 5 pounds or more. Hopefully this week's weigh in won't be as disastrous as originally thought.
Everyone else doing good?
