Greetings! ... Reporting in with a one pound loss ... this is the time of year I have a real hard time with weight loss ... I seem to eat more when it gets cooler or maybe it’s just heartier foods like chili, beef stew, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, you get the picture ... anyway, I was glad to see all of the posts on last weeks thread because I’m sure this time of year is hard on all that are trying to lose weight ... holiday foods are wonderful and life is to short to deny ourselves these pleasures ... I thought this might be a good time if anyone has any suggestions on how to deal with the barrage of food that is coming ... there is always “The Chimp’s Super Purge” but that may not appeal to all ... more exercise, lower fat, smaller portions ... what am I saying:eek: ... I guess I will just enjoy and let the lard fall where will .... peace out:cool:

Starting weight..........233
Last Week ..................191
This week.....................190
Total Loss ....................43

You mean holiday food like eggnog cake and Tennessee whiskey cake; two recipes I cut out of the newspaper yesterday and intend to try before the week-end's over?;)
If you figure it out, Express Mail it to me.;):p:p

What I plan to do is eat whatever I want, but within my points parameter, including my thirty-five weekly points. If I encounter something particularly tempting, I will either have a little or take left-overs and spread it out over a couple days. My reason for this is that I don't have a history of bouncing right back after a binge. If my binges were trains they would have several cabooses; just when you think it's over, look again!

A van? Hope all is well!

I seem to be ok this morning, just a little sore ... it did not knock me down and since it was a van I think the impact was spread out over the length of my body, mainly from my shoulders to my hips (hit from the rear) ... thank goodness it did not hit my head or I would be paying for damage to the van:p

Sounds like a good plan ... everyone says eat all your points and that must be right because I never did and as you know I seem to stay in yoyo mode:rolleyes:

Chimp,

It seems that you might need Nurse Bina to help you get past the stiffness.;):) Why did you try to bump the van with your butt . . . trying to shove it out of your way? Well, whatever the circumstances, I'm glad that you weren't hurt too badly.:):)

Maybe I will weigh later and get this post back on track . . . .:p:p

You had a brush with immortality? Wow -- Superbob is impressed. SB has come to terms with his mortality but can only dream of immortality. Just more evidence that chimps rock and rule. :p:p:p Seriously, SB is happy you survived this close encounter with a van!

Superbob, the van should be thankful it survived a close chimp encounter! The chimp's BUTT at that!:eek:

Now everyone reading this post keep your minds focused on the chimp's butt while I report this week's #'s . . . . :p

Last week: 154.9
This week: 154.2

Lost a little more than a half a pound, but the holidays are rushing at us!:p:)

OUCH!!! How many lives does a chimp have.... anything like a cat? Glad you are OK and good for you on the weight loss. Keep setting a good example!

Here is my mantra lately and I'll try to keep it going in my head over and over during the holidays. I agree we all need to enjoy the pleasures of food surrounding this time of year - but you still have to exercise some resistance!

EXERCISING YOUR RESISTANCE MUSCLE (Don't ask me where this muscle is found in the body --- I think somewhere in your brain :) )

Each time you resist eating something you shouldn't you're strengthening your tendency to resist in the future. However, each time you give in and eat something you shouldn't, you're strengthening your tendency to give in

I plan to eat what I want on Thanksgiving day - until I'm full, but not stuffed - but that is the only day. No leftovers strung out over days - except for maybe healthy turkey and veggie dishes.

I am done boosting my metabolism now and I am back on the lower calorie phase of my diet now - 1200/day as of Wed. I can report a 1.2 lb loss for the week and that really just appeared this morning. Hopefully more down next week.

Starting weight: 224
Last Week: 206
This week: 204.8
Weekly loss: -1.2
Total loss: -19.2

Keep up the good work losers!! I am glad Halloween is behind us - I can honestly say I made it through without a single piece of candy ! (Actually not a huge feat for me as chocolate isn't my downfall anyway...)

I am meeting Marsha (aka Catwoman) from VR.com for dinner Sat. night. She is in town for a cat show event and suggested we meet. My first time to meet a valver - in person. We are going out to a seafood place as I figured I'd have a better chance of staying on target. Grilled not fried.... repeat again... grilled not fried..... over and over again .... grilled not fried...

Later gators,

Rhena

Thanks everyone and great job on losing weight:) ... I worked today with no problem but I can feel the soreness coming on tonight ... I’ve always heard wait till day three ... maybe that’s just an old wives tale .... of course it depends on how old she is as to wether it’s all that bad;)

Nurse Bina recommends ICE for unwanted stiffness.:p
Hope you feel better soon.
:)

Now who hit who? Did the van hit our Chimp or did our Chimp hit the Van? Don't matter it's enough to scare a pound or more outta anybody.
For help to relieve stiffness............OMG what am I saying.......oh yea wrong thread, maybe a hot shower may help too, it helps on my stiff neck.
In all seriousness Cooker, I do hope your feeling more limber everyday.

Back from our WW weigh-in; here's our report:

CINDY:

Starting Weight: 140.8
Last Week: 138
This Week: 137.6
Weekly Change: -.4
Total Loss: 3.2

WISE:

Starting Weight: 194.2
Last Week: 191.6
This Week: 189.2
Weekly Change: -2.4
Total Loss: 5

A very good week! Cindy thought she would gain, but she lost. I broke below 190 and drop to the next point level, but it is worth it.

The report I posted about my doctor's visit had a starting weight of 200, which is prior to re-starting at WW; I'm only dealing with WW numbers here since it's easy to keep track of. However, overall, I've lost close to 11 lbs.

Good job Cooker, Mary and Rhena!

Cooker, just how did it come about that you were knocked down by a van? I know you don't talk much about yourself, but inquiring minds want to know. If you'd rather not get in to it, no prob! Just glad you're okay.

Good job, Wise and Cindy!

I have it on good authority (police report in The Columbia Cackle) that since the Chimp is a little short, the van driver never saw him in his rearview mirror. The man didn't known anything was amiss until the Chimp leaped on top of the van's roof, swung down in front of the driver's side, and proceeded to give the poor guy one of the chimp's trademark finger gestures.
To add insult to injury, the Chimp then reached in through the open window and honked the horn--causing the driver to have his own Depend's moment;);) Mrs. Cooker was called to the scene to corral the chimp and help restore order.:)

Thanks Duffey! Now I know, at least, that it wasn't something really weird that happened. ;)

Seriously Cooker, how did it happen?

I'm biting the bullet today and posting the numbers.
Since getting switched from Maxzide to Aldactone I have gained over ten lbs!

My weight today is 186.
I'll be happy to post any loss whatsoever next week. I'll need to change medicines if I this trend continues. I congratulate everyone on their losses this week. Don't worry, I'll join your ranks soon!

Bless your heart Betty! That has to be difficult to deal with, that much sudden weight gain. Offering prayers that your medicine gets regulated or changed to correct the issue.

I posted on the wrong date! This week I thought I had lost 6 lbs but it
was really 8 lbs!!:D I still have 17 more to go ,but will be happy with 12.
I Feel so much better--the fattening food is just not worth it.
Congrats to Cooker ,Wise,Cindy,and Wildflower.

Betty- I can relate to the meds interfering with weightloss, I am fighting
my slow thyroid along with my own bad habits. When you lose those 10 lbs,
please give them to someone thin like Bina!:D:p
