Greetings. yes it is I, your long lost Chimp:smile2: ... I have been following the Throwdown from time to time and all of you seem to be doing great ... I’m down 3.25 from the last time I weighed in (3-1-13) and I’ll take it ... Nothing new on my end, still searching for the magic bullet:rolleyes2:

How has your week gone? ... It is good to know SuperBob is on the mend and I know we all keep him in our prayers ... I really appreciate all he does for this thread and for giving me a much needed break ...

Have a great week and good losing

2013 Starting Weight: 231
Last Weigh In : 232.0
Todays Weight: 228.75

Test Test Test .....

Testy, Chimp?:biggrin2:

I am able to access the thead using IE; my default is Chrome, so maybe it's a browser issue?

Anyway, my appetite has not returned following the horrid Easter virus that laid me low, so I'm not sure how long my current weight loss will last. No High 5's until I see if it's permanent or not.

2013 starting weight: 151
Last week: 148.5
This week: 146.0

Sorry I'm MIA, but we are busy at work, and I am disgusted with my weight (147, up from 134 2 years ago). I know 2 cruises in 9 months don't help, but seriously, if I shake off 3 lbs, it comes right back.
I can't exercise any more (2-3 times per day is plenty, thank you), and it is very hard to eat less or much healthier than I already do. I think it's age.

Hang in there Laurie!!! You know, you may need to cut bacl on exercise ... I have heard that you can do too much and slow weight loss...

Somehow I doubt I can do much harm. My exercise schedule runs 30 minutes on the elliptical 4 days/week, yoga 1 day/ week at 5 a.m.
1 mile walk at lunchtime, then in the evening 1 hour yoga class once per week, and probably 2 extra evening walks per week (since DH is walking Miss Jet the retired agility dog during the daytime these days) .
Then gardening or walks, and maybe 30 more minutes of yoga on the weekend. I'm not killing myself, and I need to do more weight work when I get my tennis elbow to heal (no, I don't play tennis, but...). But this routine easily adds up to an hour per day, sometimes an hour and a half of actively exercising. Of course, I sit on my bum in front of a computer 9 hours per day, 5 days per week....That undoes a lot of exercise.

Greg's got the right idea!

Laurie, I think age does play a part. It's much harder for me to lose weight now than it was 5-10 years ago. My metabolic rate has crept down to a snail's pace.:frown2:

I'll second the motion that age plays a big part in our weight. Over the last 10 years, I've probably picked up 10 pounds without changing my eating habits. I know I have reduced my exercise - not by choice, though. I'm hoping that once the doc releases me, I can get back to a more intense exercise schedule. I'm still limited to walking for another couple of weeks (I see the doc on 4/24), but I have my eye on an introduction to spinning class after that. I don't think I'll want to do a 60-minute high-intensity spinning class yet, but they have a 30-minute intro that looks interesting. I stopped by last week to talk to the instructor to see how they would feel about having a valver with a pacemaker in the class. First she told me that the class is self-paced, so no worry. They she spent a few minutes sharing with me all of her heart issues and the fact that she still instructs a class like spinning. I guess no problem there.

This week, I did weigh, but I don't think it is a good representation of "the real me." IIRC, I started the year at 164.6, and today hit 164.2. I won't call it official, because I only got to eat one small meal yesterday. Just too busy fighting some "fires." I'll know more in the next couple of weighings. . .
