Al, I have a question !if a person sees one bruse on her body should i be concerned and contact my new heart dr. at the LOMA LINDA heart institute? I dont know if you remember I told you about being in the hospital in sept for my level being so high i ended up having 5pints of blood anyway plz let me know thank you for being here for all of us chris

If you do not have any idea of how the bruise got started and it is big and getting bigger and looking ugly, I would call the doctor or go to the ER. If it is starting to look yellow, I would not do anything because it is going away.

Chris,

Al has given you some good guidelines.

I'll just add, if the bruise is in a place that you don't normally get bruises, such as ribs, upper arm or facial area, you might want to have it checked out.

If it is a place that you normally bump: thigh, lower arm, shin or hip, and it isn't overly painful or swollen, then I would just watch it.

You'll have to be the judge of what is normal for you. I do not bruise any easier being on coumadin IF I'm in range, or even slightly over, than I did before I went on it.

Hope this helps.

many nose bleeds and sudden swelling on ankel

Hi its me again im sorry im having such a hard time with these nose bleeds the nurse said pinch your nose for 10 minutes i said i know how to stop a nose bleed but i have had 3 of them in one day i also noticed my ankel swelling up and i can hardly walk on it is came on sudden too i didnt do anything to hurt it or anything out of the norm im falling apart the bruses are better but all these other things are going on my INR level was 6.6 went down from last week which was 7.7 they said dont worry but i dont knwo why i hve this swellign is it a thing like a nose bleed also help

If your last INR was 6.6, these things are probably due to that. If it makes you worried, you will need to go to the ER.
