thanks Nancy for the concern. I'm trying to pinpoint a lot of things, but I do believe the high INR(for me) affects my concentration level. I do have high cholesterol, probably higher than anyone in here. It was 628 pre-surgery with tri-glycerides over 2500. I'm taking tri-cor now which is keeping cholesterol in the 250 range. I am going to go to a have my eyes checked because my vision gets weird at times, but as your quote says "Never give up".

Ross, you're about the same age as me (I think). I'm in my 40's. I'm thoroughly convinced though that my birth-mom had a lot do with my physical condition, since she was using amphetamines while pregnant, and had 2 of the 3 shots to abort me. she actually said she forgot to get the 3rd abortion shot because she was devastated by the assassination of JFK. hmmmm not sure I believe her, but that's what she told me. she said she went through a lot because she signed a paper which took her out of the family will. the family is one of the wealthiest in the US. Tishman who owns Tishman Construction and is rebuilding the World Trade Center. true story.

Concentration problems with high INR.

I'd say when I find myself having a hard time concentrating, my INR is usually high. Also, I seem to be more hungry. IS this all in my head as I know many will say, or does anybody else have these symptoms?

I've never had or heard about these symptoms. I'm not sure physiologically how it would even happen. The only symptoms I've ever heard of have to do with bleeding - bruising, blood in urine or stool, nosebleeds, etc.

I have not had symptoms like these that I believe was caused by increased INR.......but, I am also very careful not to let my INR get too hi, or especially, too lo.

Perhaps whatever causes your INR to be high, also causes your poor concentration? Whenever I have a high bp spike, my INR also goes up.

I do get hungry, but due to boredom sometimes, not real hunger nor due to INR!! My concentration was bad for a long perdiod after my surgery, but it is improving now with exercise...no corelation with INR.

When Joe had problems with concentration there were several possibilities.

1.) He had congestive heart failure problems, especially ascites problems (fluid retention in the stomach area). This would back up into his liver and cause both concentration issues and INR instability. However, that did not cause hunger.

2.) He had kidney issues caused from either CHF or too much diuretic. This did not cause hunger either.

Perhaps you have a couple of things going on.

Do you also have breathing problems, or swelling of your feet, legs or abdomen? Is your blood sugar stable? How are you sleeping at night, having problems breathing when laying flat?

Is it bad enough to make an appt. with the doctor?
