I recently found a program that tells you the definition of the programs that are in your Start-UP. It tells you if you need all these programs running all the time. I disabled 25 programs that were running all the time that were not necessary. My computer is now at lightning speed again just like when it was new. The lnk below will get you to the test screen:
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php?filter=msmsgs
I will try to walk you threw the procedure. It is not hard but might be a little taxing for some.
!.Clickyour "START" button on the bottom left
2.Click "RUN"
3. Type in "msconfig" and click "OKAY"
4.The System Configuration Utility window will come up. Click on the "STARTUP" tab.
5. This will now show you all the programs that are currently running. It allows you to disable the ones that you don't need by not checking them.Look up each one on the program link I gave you and it will tell you if you need that program running all the time or not.
6. Disable the programs you don't need and restart your computer.
I hope I haven't confused everyone but I did this last night to my computer and I am running at a lightening speed .
Good Luck
