Cold

Cold

Hey Alpha,

I'd get checked out as soom as possible given the circumstances of recent OHS. While some coughing is normal with cleaing the lungs after surgery, lots of coughing is not, in my opinion, going to help much with the healing process.

The folks in my cardio's office told me they really didn't want me to get the cold and flu stuff for about six months after surgery. They were less than thrilled that I work in a school and get exposed to every case of crud the kids get. Their general feeling was that my imune system would be weakened after surgery and getting a cold, or the flu wouldn't be a good thing.

I did see my primary care doctor a couple of times when I felt like I was getting sick and her staff wouldn't even let me sit in the waiting room with the really sick people for fear I would get exposed to something that would cause major complications.

It's better to be overly cautious rather than have something like a cold cause major complications. A trip to the ER or seeing your doctor as soon as possible won't hurt.

Oh boy, this is too soon to be having a cold.....hopefully you can get him to drink some tea with honey and lemon to help soothe his throat and keep him hydrated.
He needs to see a doc or put a call in to his surgeon's hospital.
Best wishes.

I wouldn't know where to begin on this one ..... but I just wanted to say that I wish you both the best!

thanks guys

thanks guys

thanks for responding everyone, he is a little better, just kind of clogged up and coughing, the coughing makes his chest hurt though, so he uses the cough pillow just dont want congestion to get into his chest, so since we are going to cleveland tomarrow we are just going to get some sleep now and get up and head out about 8 am it will take us a little less than 4 hours to get there so they will be able to give him an antibiotic if need be. we disconnected the airbag so that he could ride in the front cuz the back seat is so uncomfortable, so thanks again all of you.
