Mary

Another batch of strong thunderstorms and tornados swept through our area last night.
This is a picture of my sister's truck that was hit by a falling tree only seconds after my niece had been removed from her car seat.
Luckily no one was hurt, but they are still shaking their heads over what a close call they had.

Wow - that was a close call. We had really bad storms come through our area too.

North Georgia had tornado warnings this morning and here in Atlanta we are under a tornado watch. I hear it rumbling outside my office now.

Thank God your sister and niece are safe, Mary. That was indeed too close a call for comfort. You all be safe out there. It's a little stormy here right now, but nothing (apparently) like what struck out there.

Need some good bright sunny weather for the Redbirds to open their new stadium!

Mary,

God was with your family last night. We had some bad weather here and spent some time in the basement with the sirens sounding.

Looking bad again outside but it has cooled off so probably won't be too bad.

Stay safe everyone.

So glad your family is okay- the weather this past year is frightful and I fear we are in for another bad hurricane season.

Glad, Annie and family were safe.....I told Mary on telephone this morning that I always get mad at Rufus, our cat, for waking me at 6 a.m. wanting to go out..So glad, he did this morning.A fierce thunderstorm was brewing and the den curtains were standing straight out. We had rolled windows out yesterday and pulled drapes....Lamps were almost about to come off tables, ect. when I got to them to roll back in...Lots of lighting and thunder for an hour..We are still under a tornado watch in Ga.and temps are going to fall again. ...This is very strange weather.Windy and warm now...B/T/W..Rufus decided not to go outside..:p Litter box for him:p Bonnie

Wishing everyone the best with these storms. Hurricane season will soon be here in Florida. It's like standing in the middle of an 8 lane highway, hoping a car isn't in your lane.

Hey Bon,
I'd be using a litter box too rather than venturing out into this wild weather!   Thanks again for calling and checking to make sure we were ok.:)

Sherry,
It's my sister who lives on the Ohio River--about 65 miles SW of Evansville. Marty had actually gotten the baby out on the driver's side and started around the truck to get her bag and baby bottle out of the passenger's side when the tree came down. It was really, really close.
