Clexane / enoxaparin sodium with Warfarin

Hi,

I have a mechanical aortic valve (dec 2007) , my INR dropped to 1.3 for no reason so after a trip to A & E they have sent me back home with some enoxapain injections (40mg - one daily) to take as well as my warfarin (11.5mg daily). No medicine information leaflet etc - well i've woken this morning with a horrendous headache and diarrhea.

I can't find any particularly relevant info on the net in relation to this medication - any thoughts advice would be appreciated.

That's lovenox, in our lingo. They maybe should have increased your warfarin dosage. Generally lovenox is given 2x daily - at least that's the way I've always had it. It is temporary until your warfarin dosage brings your INR up.

Sounds like you've acquired a bug some how. Those symptoms aren't related to the drug. This bug may also be the cause of your low INR.
