Someone had posted that they buy their INRatio strips from this site. The cost of the monitor and the strips were way below other companies. I've never personally purchased from this company, but have referred a few members to the site to check it out. I was just about to do that again, but went to the site to double check. It now says, for both the monitor and the strips:
This product can be sold to medical facilities and physicians only. http://www.claflinequip.com/

Anyone know why??? What a bummer!

I may try Claflin next time. If you buy a bulk box of 48 you pay $5.00 a strip. QAS and Raytel charge more than twice as much.

I ordered my son's on Ebay last time also. Cheaper than ordering from QAS even WITH my insurance paying 50%.

Although the site SAYS they sell it to physicians only, that is not the case. But it is a prescription item. So, you just have to have your Dr. sign and fax in the Medical Necessity/Authorization form-see the link on the middle of the tic tac toe board to the right of the screen when you pull up the Hemosense Inratio monitor. I think it says "brochure" or something like that.

If you send in your order by internet, they'll call you about the Dr's form-at least they did me. It might be better to get the form signed first, call them, and have a sales person watching for your order and form (faxed) and put them together.

Hey Marsha, I want to know WHAT EBAY company, and did they require a physician authorization?

If you go to e-Bay and put in Hemosense INRatio test strips, it should pop up. I looked at the feedback -- quite a few people have been buying from this business (don't think it's a medical-only business).
And, no, I didn't need any physician authorization.
BTW, I didn't have to bid on the strips -- it was a BUY NOW type of deal. My first encounter on e-Bay, too.

Faye:

Thanks! Not sure what the pricing levels mean exactly, but they may be similar to those at a website where I order Rxes for my cats (www.vetserv-usa.com), one price w/out an Rx from a vet, a cheaper one if you have an Rx (that business is in North Carolina, not overseas).

I need to get some replacement parts for my nebulizer, so I may use Express Medical Supplies to get those for now. May get my INRatio strips there next time. I just set up an account. Is any paperwork required from a physician?

Thanks again!

Just received 2 boxes 24 strips from QAS -bill $312.00! 13 bucks a strip! I am "self-pay", do not involve insurance or Medicare.
