Here is a site where I have been a member since just after my quad bypass. The bottom article shown here includes an article Dr Rich wrote about valves and explanations of what each category of valve 'disease' is. Dr Rich is also a good source for asking questions. He is an EP, will not give you any dx over internet, but will answer general questions re whatever the heart question is. He's been a great help to me.

Thanks so much for this reference; I found the article on amiodarone most informative, and in complete agreement with my experience with that.

The strange life of amiodarone - it is the bane of my brother's life. He was put on it, kept on it for 1 1/2 yrs with no checking his liver or other things. We kept telling his dr he was toxic from something - turned out it was amiodarone, and left him with PD and permanent eye damage, etc, etc................My primary won't even rx it. But I do know that it is so helpful for some, so bad for others.

The site is so informative and comes from an expert. In the forum, you can ask questions, and since he is an EP, noted author of heart books, speaker, advocate for patients needs/rights, attends ALL the seminars re hearts, I value his opinion so very much. There is a part where you can read all his experience. He has helped so many in the forum.
