Hello Friends,
I had my first chance to visit a traditional German Christmas Market last night. My wife, Cristi, arrived yesterday, and we took a stroll through the village last evening.
The Christmas Market is setup with booths and displays from local artists, craftsmen and food specialties for the season. All of the lighting is with candles and is so beautiful. The carolers carry touches as they walk through the village chanting and singing songs of old. The Siegburg, Germany Christmas Market is a small one, but if famous for it's traditional, non-commercialized atmosphere.
Tomorrow we go on to Nuermberg to see the Christmas Market there. It is world famous and very large. I will take some pictures and share. From there, on Friday morning, Cristi and go on to Hintertux, Austria to spend the holiday.
Hopefully I have attached the pictures I took of the Christmas Market last night to this thread. It will show the carolers, an isle at the market, a blacksmith, and an artisan display. These were taken at night, so they may be a little dark. If they don't come across on this. I'll resend the pics separately.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all,
Rob
