Not sure what thread this should go into but here goes anyway...
Well it was only a matter of time i suppose!
And of all the scenarios i had imagined Chloe bashing her head in school in - this was not one of them!
I had just got her into school at 8am for breakfast club and was chatting to my friend who runs it before going round to my own classroom when we heard a crash and scream and my stomach told me it had to be Chloe. We turned round to see Chloe on the floor screaming blue murder between two PE benches. The little maggot had decided sliding backwards off a bench would be fun - obviously not taking into account that there was another bench directly behind it, so fell off and cracked her head on the corner of the other one. I picked her up and as i rubbed the back of her head, felt the hugest lump ever! She's never banged her head hard enough to make that kind of lump before, so 'UH OH' thinks me. Big bump + warfarin cannot be good! So called a taxi as stupid husband had his mobile off still as he has the morning off (whooooole other story!) and off to A&E with Chloe wailing about her sore head. Taxi driver made suitably funny comments about the doctors having to chop her head off! Excellent - cheers mate!
Got to A&E - explained she was heart patient, on warfarin etc etc and checked her in at the desk. Sat patiently and waited for 10 minutes... 20 minutes... patience ran out and I grabbed the nearest nurse to ask why she was dealing with a man with a squished finger when my daughter who takes warfarin and has a head injury hasn't even been looked at yet. The dozey receptionist hadn't told the nurses anything about warfarin! Great!
I won't go into too much detail about the very stressful day that followed except to say - STUPID, STUPID SHO'S!!!!! EVEN STUPIDER STUPID SHO!!!! and Oh my God I HATE SHO'S!!!!!!
But we're home now after 10 hours observations and Chloe running riot round the ward obviously fine. She's to have no TV for 24 hours, no school for rest of week (already had tears from her on that one!!) and we have to just generally keep an eye on her. I'm getting up every so often tonight to go and prod her about a bit - no doubt i will be a very popular mum tonight!!
I just knew warfarin and school would be fun!!!
