I am more of a lurker but wanted to post this question...I have gotten Chicken Pox, caught from my son who had it about two weeks ago...anyway was wondering if anybody on this forum knew anyone who got chicken pox as an adult who had an AV and was on warfarin? i am at the stage where the blisters have shown up..a lot more sick than my son got..i have had a fever the past couple of days and have been taking Tylenol...fever mostly gone but still in a funk...appreciate any comments..

I haven't had this but...

I haven't had this but...

Are your doctor's monitoring you more carfully while you have the chicken pox? It just seems to me that if your at the blistering stage, that they would watch out for infection, which I know you don't need. I know I always worry every time I get a viral infection, becuase of my valves (which are not repaired or replaced yet). I hope you get the right treatement with this, and I hope you feel better, Take Care, Harrybaby666  :D

That can't be fun, John. I can't think of an adult who's been in your shoes at all, but I've heard it hits adults harder than kids.

Fortunately, it's the mumps, not chicken pox, that can make adult males sterile. But sick is sick, and you must surely be that. If you haven't talked to your GP, maybe he might want to treat you with one of the new antivirus agents, that help make viral attacks less viscious.

Get better,

John, children's diseases always make adults sicker than it makes the little ones. If you are still sick tomorrow, pick up the phone and call your doctor's office. You are the first case of children's disease we have run into on the forum, so we don't know unless there is a member who has personal experience. But, when in doubt, call the professional.

My Grandson had the worst case of chickenpox. Yup, this time of the year...He got them in his eyes, too... I remember, we had a bad snow andwe had to take him to several doctors. Not fun...He cried the most when they were in or near his eyes..Be careful not to rub there. Bonnie

Definitely see your doctor(s) pronto and make sure your cardiologist knows what's going on.

Any illness (and the medications you may take for it) can have some effect on how your body reacts to anticoagulants and (at least for me) diuretics. You should be watched closely because of the fever, the blisters, and a whole host of other complications that can come from an adult with the chicken pox...
