*wonders if anyone else is wondering about a Chicagoland gathering...since it has been a while since we got together*

Alrighty...it was mentioned in another thread...and, since I haven't seen anyone else starting a thread, figured I would....

What are your schedules like for September?

Let's see....for sure, I could be available Sep 7, 14, 27 or 28. I also could be available for a Friday nite gathering....

We mentioned a meal and pool...or, we could go see a movie...or bowling..........

Just some random thoughts....

Hope so. Will have to check my schedule when we return. I know it is kind of heavy this month....but I am sure we can all get something together. Round table brunch was nice up in CL. Would not mind doing that again.

Anyone? Mark your available dates. If I had to guess, third Sunday in Sept. Have to double check. We could always do Schaumburg.

Hey Gina,

Sure...we can do the roundtable brunch at CL again...that'd be cool. Maybe we could then "migrate" to that pool hall in Algonquin to play some pool afterward . Schaumburg is cool, tho, too....

Hmmm...3rd weekend of September (19-21) most-likely will not work for me.... We will be in Pittsburgh that weekend for the Cubs/Pirates series at PNC Park.... Course, maybe we could return early Sunday morning...we'll see....

I'm still knee-deep in the re-decorating project (the one that was supposed to be done in August, right?), so the later in the month, the better for me. Let's see what dates surface, and I'll try my best to work around the project list. Will be nice to see everyone again. . .

Decorating or implementing Steve Tracy does a great job of implementing my decortating ideas. We have 4 rooms on the list for this fall/winter.

Anyway, lets shoot for the last Sunday of the month? Will look into brunch options. Maybe we can meet at a hotel near O'Hare this time?

Umm...Steve, yeah, that was sposed to be done in August. But, no worries...I know the feeling....a bit of a few projects that I'd planned to have done by now aren't...so...I know...LOL.

What about Sept 14...or 21? Looks like we'll be back from Pittsburgh late Sat nite, so maybe I could make a Sunday engagement on the 21st....

Lorraine contacted me and said the 21st works for her. It should be ok for myself as well. Will let you all know for certain in a few days. Would you all mind if we made it at a halfway mark. Schaumburg?

Sounds good to me . Schaumburg is OK, depending on where in Schaumburg as Elgin and the areas between Elgin/Schaumburg seem to love road construction this month.... *sighs*

As for the 21st, I need to be a bit careful about what all I plan that particular weekend. I'm not ruling it out...in fact, that'd be fine with me. All I know (and this is a big hunch) is that something might be "going on" that weekend. That Friday is my Bday (arg...30...LOL), and I have a huge hunch (i.e. guess) that my family is planning something for me that particular weekend.... I base this "hunch" on 2 rather odd issues.... 1-Heather (my friend in VA) called me the other day at work to get my sister's cell ph#, but wouldn't say why she needed it.... and 2- Dad seems to be "procrastinating" contacting my uncle about tickets for the Cubs/Pirates series that weekend at PNC Park....

So, we shall see .

Hey Gina, Cort any other Chicagoland members,

Schaumburg would be just fine. Any ideas where to go? I haven't frequented the Schaumburg area in about 10 years. Too congested for my liking. When I grew up in that area in my teens, Woodfield Mall was farmland! Route 58 was a two lane road, as well as route 72. Of course that was back in the 1960's.
After I moved out to where I live now, the only time I went to that area was when I still worked for Motorola in Schaumburg. We moved our division to Arlington Heights somewhere about 1985 I believe. Then I had no reason to go out that way since they have built up so may malls around where I live. Lets see what we can come up with.

Ok guys.....don't be upset. The 21st is out for me Helping hands on the weekends. Work to be completed outside before the cold sets in. Fun part will be repairing the lawn the kids tore up this summer. And...a challenge keeping them off it while the new grass grows.

Only a few more weeks of warm weather to take advantage of! Looking forward to seeing you at the reunion!

I believe I'm going to Barringtons, Art In the Barn that Sunday Sept 28, with my neighbor. This month seemed to get booked up fast. If I'm not out somewhere doing something, I'm home trying to catch up on home chores, laundry, groceries etc and projects that seemed to have taken a back seat for the summer.

I think I'm going to have to just wait and see eveyone at the reunion. I'll be there Thursday through Sunday. How about you two, Cort and Steve? Maybe we'll have better luck in the fall or winter arrqnging another Chicagoan get together.
