Here's a semi-silly question to help distract Fisher...

It's vain, it's trivial, it's (probably) a guy thing...

How much of a person's chest will they shave before surgery? Just a strip down the middle around the incision line, or everything above the belly button?

I was wondering that myself. Oh well, it can't be any worse than ripping it out when the remove the contact patches from the ekg test. lol! I guess I will find out in the morning.

Does the name Mexican hairless mean anything? ;) It's all history. Smooth as new born babies bottom.

self shave

I used an electric beard trimer on my chest hair two days before the surgery and expected the hospital to go over my amatuer attempt and take the hair completely down to the skin. Much to my surprise after surgery, when I looked down upon my chest the doctors did no further shaving to improve upon my 30 second effort. I only shaved about a sixth inch width swath down the center of my chest.............I was expecting to be shaved ALL THE WAY DOWN......that did not happen. However, they did trim the nether regions for the cath.........(got lucky, a female nurse..)

Mine was thorough - from the neck down, out to the sides of the chest, the crotch area, below the knees (in case of by-pass?).

It was kind of a joke, as I have "chest hair" singular.

They say that hair is a haven for bacteria - it isn't worth the risk. And it is the first of many indignities, so lie back and let it happen.

I woke up to a really smooth and bare chest and belly. I'm told they did it in my room after they gave me a happy pill, but I've no recollection of it at all.

For my cath, all they did was shave a little patch on my inner thigh -

In my case as Ross has stated if mine is all history and smooth as a newborn babies bottom, the my chest will match THE TOP OF MY HEAD!

Hmm...

If hair is a "haven for bacteria" then they just might have to shave my backside as well:eek: !

I've been shaved in various spots and stripes over the years, and have had to go back and shave everything so I sould go out in public in a bathing suit.

It always grows back, and it always turns more gray, and it always itches. The good thing is it give me an excuse to get a good all-over body scratch from my wife.;) .
