Hi everyone,

Today Cherie got to have her chest tubes removed. I left the room for this part!
She continue's to suffer from nasea. Enough that it makes it hard for her to eat. But she is taking in fluids and is trying to walk as much as possible. Overall she is doing well.

We confirmed today that next Monday she will have the procedure to hopefully fix the fast heart rate. They will attempt to ablate (sever) the pathway that causes the fast heart rate. This is the same procedure that was attempted 20 years ago which resulted in the "accidental" puncture of her valve, which is what brought us to this point. The procedure can last anywhere from 2 - 8 hours. Yes, thats what they said!

As of right now, it looks like we won''t be able to leave until next thursday.

Thanks to everybody for signing the guestbook.

ONce again thanks Scott

So here we are, getting ready to ring in the new year in Minnesota. YIPPIE!

The last couple days have been about getting stronger (walking, nutrition, etc). Yesterday was the first day that she was able to eat any real food because of the nausea problem. Her heart is still swollen and irritated, so she is still hooked up to an external pacemaker.

The chest tubes are out, the artirial line is out, but also the two IV lines went bad so they are now protecting the neck IV with great care as this is the only IV access left. It's because she has poor veins, not because of her stubborness!

So we are in sort of a holding /healing pattern, waiting for Monday's EP study and ablation procedure.

Hope everyone has a Happy New Year. We will try to be on our best behavior here!

Scott and Cherie

Thanks Scott for the update
