The last year has been busy with some changes at work, not worth detailing here, but requiring some long hours.
Also, since the first of the year I have been serving on the local board of directors of Habitat for Humanity, where I volunteer most Saturday mornings. I've been involved in a program where we go in and refurbish existing homes as opposed to the new construction that Habitat is most known for.
Took some sailing lessons last year. Enjoy it, but don't have as much time for it as I'd like.
Haven't done any triathlons for a year, but still training and looking forward to doing at least one or two races later this year. Seem to be fighting off more aches and pains all time, mostly age-related it seems.
Still lurking and trying to keep up on things here, but just haven't posted much lately. Will be eight years since my AVR in December. Have my annual checkup and echo with my cardiologist in about three weeks.
Do you get nervous about your echos? I have my annual scheduled for 9/11 of all dates, but I have an abdominal annie now and praying it hasn't grown anymore.
Quite frankly, yes. A little worried this year. Noticing some SOB in the last year. I turned 55 this year, so don't know if it's just age or other things.
EIGHT YEARS! Hard to believe, isn't it???? I remember when you came into VR. Lots of water over that dam in those years.
Glad to see you are still in good condition (judging from your picture, that's my understatement of the day)and keeping your physical workouts going. You look great. That must be your son.
Sorry to hear about your SOB. Hope there is an answer for it. Keep us posted?
