I had another check up with the doctor. Everything is going good, the new valve is working excellent. He had results from echo and it was very good. I took advice from alot of you guys and he prescribed zoloft for my nerves and hopefully that will help. So if anyone is taking it or knows someone taking it I would love to hear how it is working for you. The only bad thing was my coumadin check I was at 4.5 so were are changing doses a little bit and go back in for the lovely finger poke on the 5th of Sept. The nurse did tell me that stress can play a role in your levels they don't know why but it does, so she thought maybe thats what was going on with me. It will be 3 months in 3 days from my last surgery, so now I have graduated from monthly check with pcp and he is letting me go 2 months until my next appt. I am so tired of doctors and appts which I am sure all of you can relate. But being pregnany before having the 2 oh surgeries I have been seeing doctors constant for 1 yr now. Everyone here has been so kind and helpful and I truly appreciate all the kind and helpful words you guys have given me.
Thanks so much
Michelle:D

Sounds as if everything is going well. Keep it up!

Stress does affect INR. No one really knows why, but it does. Once you get a handle on it, you'll be fine. Stick around and help us out. We can always use more input from other people. ;)

Dear Michelle,
I was prescribed Zoloft prior to my last open heart surgery since I was so anxious and depressed about having another open heart surgery within 2 years at my age (Im now 42). My life has changed so much for the better with the help of Zoloft. I wouldnt think about stopping it. It is a wonderful drug for me and I hope it will be for you as well. Best of luck to you!

I had open heart at the end of Feb. and I am on Zoloft. It has helped me tremendously. I had quit smoking at the time of the surgery and I was having a hard time dealing with the stress of both. I am only taking 50 mg. a day and this seems to be enough for me. I sleep better at night and seem to be able to handle the everyday stress. I am having another surgery in Sept. to remove sternal wires. I am so glad that I am on this because I would probably be a crying mess by now. I am worried but it is nothing I can't handle. Hope this helps.
