Thought I'd share an excerpt of a message, direct from Cathy:

...one week left until the Jason Schweinberg Memorial Classic and it is going to be a very stressing week! I am so excited about meeting alot of heart families that are coming and visiting with everyone! So far we have 110 golfers and around 160 attending the dinner but every day brings in more! I will have 3 quilts on display....#4, 21 and 28... We have some exciting raffle items this year and many more auction items compared to last year. I have put together a slide presentation that educates with statistics of chd's, pictures of those living with chd's and a special "in our memories" section..I chose 2 songs....I hope you Dance by LeeAnn Womack and "The Dance" by Garth Brooks ..it is a very moving presentation and thanks to all that sent me pictures of your precious children. I have designed tshirts for everyone attending the event and there will be other free giveaways including something special for every child that attends. There has been 4 radio stations running PSA's about the event and that has meant alot to me to get CHD's mentioned on the radio...next year we will shoot for TV!!! Well, I think I have mentioned most of the details except for a few big surprises that I cant tell you about until after the event!! Keep your fingers crossed that all goes well with the weather and that we spread awareness and raise a lot of money to purchase more AED's for schools!! If anyone still wants to make a donation let me know. More info can be found at http://www.chdquilt.org/jasonmemorialgolf.html

*raises eyebrow*

So, anyone from the Chicagoland area (or surrounding areas, for that matter) able to attend this? I'm planning to go in the afternoon for the silent auction and stay for the dinner....

I wish I could go..............

I wish I could go..............

Ya know KIm H. from the ring is going..........and Kelly K. and some others, I think, too. I am so jealous that y'all get to all meet up...........although I do hate the reason for the get together. Please give everyone hugs from Katie and me. I was supposed to send Cathy a picture of Katie, but, of course, haven't done it yet.............sigh! I just can't find enough time in the day. Btw, do you know what quilt number you and Katie are on?

Well, I wish I could stow away in your trunk, but then I would have to get to Illinois first anyway. :D I do expect to hear all about it when you get back. Many hugs. Janet

*grins*

Yes, I think you should come to Illinois, anyway ;). But, I'm not biased....

Heh...ironically, I just received an Email from Cathy S earlier tonight telling me who all was coming that I know from the CHDWebring.

*searches for noted Email*

Here are the ones she listed for me ... and, according to her, they all know I'm going to be there. He he he...maybe someone will be able to introduce me to a nice, single female....heh. ;).

Kelly K and family(mom to Kyle)
Gabrielle S
Michelle(mom to Ben)
Kim H and family(mom to Xander)
Chris M and family(mom to David)
Jennifer B(mom to Paige)

And, no, I don't remember which quilt Katie and I are on ... I'll have to find out from Cathy S next Saturday, unless I remember to ask in an Email before then....

Sure would be nice if some of the Chicago area people would come out for the raffles/auctions ... and to visit and share stories.....

I am working on it but haven't been able to work out the details. I posted and heard from Cathy too but didn't mention you by name. I sure would hate to miss it.

That'd be awesome if you could attend, too, cocoalab! Let me know if you will be able to go...!

Sure hope some other Chicagoland area (and anyone else, for that matter) people are able to attend.... It'd be great to meet people and swap stories ;)!

*sighs*

I know Golf isn't everyone's "cup of tea", but it sure would be nice if some of ya'll "surprise" me and show up.... I'll be there in the mid to late afternoon hours....
