I checked in at 5:30 this morning for my Electrophysiology study/cath. They were checking to make sure that my old original surgery for WPW held up or else they would do an ablation during the cath. They could not induce that rhythm, so good news, no ablation today. They will do a maze procedure to my right atrium during surgery tomorrow for atrial flutter/fib. I got to check out at 2, just in time to meet my surgeon. He was again optimistic that he would get a good result, giving me a 97% chance of survival. He is going to try and do a repair but is really planning on a replacement with a pig valve. Also will close my asd, take a tuck in my right atrium to reduce its size and possibly in my right ventricle where the heart tissue is thin where the actual defect is. It has been a long day of laying on my back, but now we are going to get a quick bit to eat to and hopefully a good nights sleep.
