Had my CAT scan done yesterday at Deborah Heart & Lung Center. Everyting went well with that, and it was a very weird feeling when the contrast enters your system. You get this warm sensation that seems to start at your eyes and then just works it's way down to your feet. The nurse told me about this ahead of time, but it still caught me by surprise at first.

The Cath. is scheduled for the 20th, and then they will need to set a date for the surgery. Part of me wants all of this to be done and over with, and part of me wants time to stand still and never have to have the surgery. Oh well, it is what it is.

It is the stenosis that is the problem. Surgery is just a BLIP and then you are in recovery. You are not alone in thinking "Can this really be happening to me?...Could they have made a mistake?...Why can't they just do it NNNOOOWWW!?"

During the scan, the dye that is injected has such an interesting effect. As you sense that spreading warmth, you are actually feeling the flow of blood through your circulatory system. You have your very own and very intimate course in how your heart moves blood through your anatomy. Head, torso, arms, legs...this is one of your body's most basic programs. That spreading warmth is odd but instructive.
