John still posting for Carole. They just moved her from ICU to a private room. Other than being nauseous and having some chest pain she is doing great. Her color is really good and she is talking. More later.

Be sure that she tells the Nurses / Doctor(s) about her Nausea and Pain. They may need to adjust her medications to better control her pain. If her nausea is from the pain medications, there may be other pain meds that cause less nausea. It is also important to take the Pain Medication BEFORE pain develops. Playing 'catchup' with Pain medication is Not a fun way to go!
Did she have a full sternotomy, or minimally invasive entry, or a thoracotomy (through the ribs)?
Each has different levels of pain / discomfort.
Surprisingly, the full sternotomy is often the Least Painful since no muscles are cut.
Absolutely wonderful news! Supercalifragilisticexpialadosious! She's lucky to have you by her side! My wife and I found out how much we love each other. It's a baptism of fire isn't it? But your love will get you through and you'll be STRONGER for it!
