Carla's Surgery

Hello,

I am Carla's husband, 'Bill'. She asked me to update you on her surgery.

She is doing well. By all accounts the surgery was successful.

There was a discovery of an additional aortic problem. Apparently the aortic root or stem was found to be closing up. The surgeon repaired this by using biological material. This is not unusal as was explained to me but will add some additional recovery time.

Both valves were replaced and are functioning properly.

The operation lasted longer then expected due too the additional arotic problem. As of this writing she is not breathing totally on her on but improving rapidly.

I will continue to update you on Carla's progress untill she is capable updating you herself.

To all those who have posted on this board THANK YOU.
Your experience, your knowledge, your compassion has helped Carla face this difficult day with more confidence and less apprehension. Undoubedly this will also aide in Carla's recovery and, albeit selfish, return to me sooner rather than later my beautiful and loving wife.

Thank you for posting on Carla's successful surgery! You sound so doting and loving - Carla is lucky to have you for a husband. You are lucky to have Carla - she seems like such a great gal via her posts.

I am so glad that her surgery went so very well. She was being prayed for through last night and today - you can be sure - by all on this board.

You are right about this board - I had my surgery eight weeks ago and if it weren't for the people here before AND after my surgery, I would have been "lost."

May God continue to bless Carla with a very speedy recovery. Tell her to take it VERY easy when she gets home - I know you will give her great care!

Carla is so lucky - to have her surgery go well, to have found the other problem before it caused trouble, and to have a husband so caring and devoted.
