cardiomyopathy WITH mitral regurgitation

Happy Spring!!!!
I have been given the diagnosis of Cardiomyopathy WITH Mitral Regurgitation. Has anyone heard of this specific diagnosis? Background 40 years old, 13 year remission Hodgkins, treated with radiation, cancer back after 9 months, treated with ABVD/MOPP, did the trick but left some long term side effects along the way. Little over year ago, mentioned to PCP about feeling tired and rapid heartrate at rest. Referred to cardiologist. Now on Coreg and Cozaar. Able to walk 3 times a week with friends on a quick 5 mile trail. Feel pretty good almost all times. Dont do great in the humidity and high heat.
Saw the recent writing of timing, surgery, replacement, and yes, I am going for second opinion, info coming this week.

Welcome to VR.com. Happy to have you on board.

I have not had this particular diagnosis but did have MV regurge which, of course, went away after surgery.

I believe there is a member who developled heart problems after radiation for Hodgkins. I cannot recall who, at the moment (another senior moment ) but I am sure he will chime in and give you some info.

I hope things go well in general and the second opinion calms you about what needs to be done and when.
