I saw my cardiologist today for my official post TEE appointment. As I reported here before I only have mild regurgitation (mitral & aortic valves) and just trace regurg at the tricuspid valve. So, I'm looking good hopefully for a long time.
Also, my total cholestorol is 147, down from 185 or so a couple months ago. EVERYTHING, kidneys, livers, etc. are functioning normal. There is a reading that measures "the likelihood of having a heart attack", don't remember its name, but mine was .2 with 2 being normal and 1 being on the low end. My cardio was thrilled and me too. Does anyone know what they call that? I can't for the life of me remember it.
I'm now walking/running on my treadmill 3 to 4 and sometimes more miles per day. I can tell a difference in my energy levels. I has taken me so long to get to this point having never really been an "exerciser." I gained a few pounds and have lost eight of it. I would like to get a bike that isn't expensive to ride, when it isn't so hot and humid. Any suggestions there?
I know that I've been all over the place with this post. Sorry. I also want to thank everyone here for sharing about your lives and your challenges and successes with valve issues. I now realize that I had been going through a mild depression/anxiety after learning I have a BAV. That was because of my brother's death after two surgeries. I didn't know anything about BAV; didn't learn much from my brother. Anyway, with my doctor's help and through this site, I now am happy to know that I'm doing very well and look forward to many healthy and happy years.
