Rehab for sure

Rehab for sure

Syl,

If insurance is covering it (even if not) rehab is a very good thing. It will not only help you gauge where you are at physically, but it will also eventually "inspire" you to take a greater interest in some type of exercise routine.

I was no gym rat prior to surgery, but my re-hab experience set me off on the right foot and I am now exercising regularly 3 to 5 days a week.

I'd say just do it!

Hey Sylvia - I didn't go because it's in another city and I couldn't drive myself there every day, but it's a really good thing if you can go. You will be with others going through it with you. I would recommend it if you can.

Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac Rehab

Hi hensylee. At least my rehab is in town, my ins. is paying so I better go. I just wonder if going for l week will do any good. Since I know so little , guess I will try it. Let you know how it goes. Syl:eek:

Hi Sylvia,

Your insurance only pays for one week? Not much time, but it usually doesn't cost too much if you have to pay yourselves. I had a co-pay of $5.00 per visit and I went 3x a week for 3 months. I thought it was a good place to go to, and it brought me amongst people who had the same or similar surgery, plus it gave me something constructive to do those days. I talked to people that were still going there after being 9 years post-op. They liked the friendships they had made, and just kept going back. They also said it felt good to be exercising with people and not on your own. Some people just don't have the motivation so it helps to be with others who do the same.
